About this Holiday House

Paisley Cottage is unique Heritage accommodation from a bygone era. It was built in 1885 one of the oldest cottages still remaining Whilst retaining the original features the cottage is cosy and comfortable. It is from a time when the pace of life was much slower. The lounge is spacious and has plenty of seating and has a cosy log fire in the original fireplace which housed a coal range. We don't have wifi but there are plenty of books and games. We do have a dvd player but a number of movies but feel free to bring some of your favourites.Major cell phone companies usually have good reception. Spark has a really good deal at the airport and is open 8am onwards. The dining table in the kitchen is large and will easily seat your group. The kitchen has a kitchen range and oven and though retains the old fashioned feel has what you're looking for to prepare your meals. We also have a portable gas heaters to keep you warm. It is important all safety standards are observed we thank you for your co operation is turn heaters off when going to bed never use them in a bedroom or where someone is sleeping. Our bathroom though renovated is in the traditional style and has a very deep old bath.. perfect for a soak. Just a note we do not have instant hot water but we do have a very large tank. Safety tip pleas use the nonslip mat in the bath. Whilst we have no special ski room we have provided an area in the kitchen where you can store skiis wet jackets and boots to dry. We ask you please to not store them in the entrance hall as the carpet is woolen and not waterproof. Both bedrooms have electric oil heaters and all beds an electric blanket. You will find plenty of extra duvees and blankets. The front verandah is a great place to relax we do have outdoor furniture in the front garden and there is a small sunny courtyard at the back of the house. We find the walk to town reasonably quick depending on your fitness level. We welcome children but do not have any special arrangements ie cots etc Snowy our rescue pet lives on the property but has her own accommodation and the neighbors feed her. Feel free to give her some love if you are a cat fan. NB She does not need to be in your space unless you are inclined. Although we usually only take four guests we are happy to answer questions to a variation of this number. We like to treat each visitor individually. There is a sofa bed in the lounge and for a small charge to cover the linen if you also using the other 3 beds. We look forward to hosting you on your summer or winter vacation and if you are looking for a unique traditional cosy old home this is the place for you. Bon voyage and safe travels Kind regards Maria

Maria, thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful, quirky, historic cottage! We loved discovering all the interesting little things you have on your shelves, the lovely old furniture and the beautiful little yard. It was a step back in time when we walked through the door. We really enjoyed the fireplace for two toasty evenings of book-reading. The bed was super-comfy, and the bath was a delight! It's a convenient location for nipping in to Methven village, or for skiing, mountain biking and hiking. We would love to stay again!

paisley Cottage was a relaxed, comfy spot, within easy walking distance of town. The log fire was fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What a fabulous wee place to stay in. Very cosy and warm (although once the fire is fixed it will be even better!!) and the owner Maria was an absolute delight to work with. Highly recommend this place to stay. Great value for money too. I'm sure we will be back one day soon.

We may sometimes request a bond of $100 We find the vast majority of our customers have been absolutely delightful and happily transfer the bond immediately back on departure. This covers the occasional breakages or excessive cleaning required.
Sometimes these slipups occur.
Depending on the season we are always happy to discuss discounts for longer stays..We have a maximum of four people but we realize family holidays can be complicated also happy to discuss individual needs why not ask. Occasionally we extend the number to 5. Each additional guest after two is $25..and should U require the sofa bed as well a
s the other 3 beds it is an extra $20 for linen.
For insurance purposes it is essential we have the accurate number of guests please let us know if.there is a variation
kind regards Maria
