1min walk to the sea! Walking distance to bars/restaurants, museum etc. It is a traditional New Zealand wooden bungalow/bach. Many of the original features remain including the little galley kitchen. This house is quirky, interesting and fun! We offer a chance for guests to stay somewhere a little different, experience some West Coast history and chill out by the sea with a glass of wine and some great local food. Our home is almost 100 years old and, though greatly cared for, shows its age in some places. Expect to find some loving wear, quaint aging and charming patina both inside and outside. This house is the perfect place to base yourselves while exploring the West Coast. One hour to Punakaiki. 1hr30mins to the glacier. 30mins the the gorge. 3hrs to Christchurch. Plenty of parking. The lounge/dinning area is small but functional with woodburner for heating in winter. There are 3 bedrooms. This is a property that would suit a family or group of friends. (no parties allowed). There is a large backyard suitable for BBQs and outdoor dining. It is fully fenced and safe for children. There are books and toys provided for children. The house can be a little cold in winter so the beds have electric blankets for warmth. Portacot available on request. The kitchen is stocked with tea/coffee/sugar and basic supplies. Rice cooker, microwave etc. Just bring your own food and cook a meal or eat out at one of Hokitika's great restaurants. CHECK IN: Check in is available from 3pm onwards. We can not allow early check ins due to Covid cleaning protocols. The house must be deep cleaned and aired for a certain number of hours after cleaning staff have left.
