Fantastic place to stay, great communication, the views are amazing, and everything you need is present - highly recommend!

It's like housesitting your aunty's house while she's away but didn't pack down. Every space is packed with what an aunty has: packed pantry (I whipped up a batter for my blue cod), surplus kitchen ware, couches, armchairs, dining table & chairs, deckchairs, magazines, games, dvds, light switches in logical places, big fridge, big lawn, big space. MASSIVE ocean views and windows on every wall upstairs for uninterrupted gazes over the almost untouched village of Kakanui and its spectacular seascape. Even in winter, the wood burner reformed the chill quickly allowing a summery basking vibe inside, and it's where you want to stay, despite the plethora of local information to tempt you into the historic harbour town of Oamaru, which embraces its Victorian heritage with a steampunk twist together with a bespoke style of quaint shops and eateries. That is if you are not penguin or seal watching. Unpretentious and safe, just like aunty's place. Highly recommend. * + wifi = 5stars. + extra$
