Newly refurbished in 2018 with new carpet and tiling Carrick 6 is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment 5 minutes walk into Queenstown. Located in Adelaide Street, Carrick Apartments are peaceful and offer fabulous lake and mountain views from the open plan living area, deck and master bedroom. The apartment complex offers underground car parking for one vehicle and is 50 meters from the shore of Lake Wakatipu. For the larger group why not consider renting Carrick 3 as well.

This apartment served the purpose of giving the family a bed for the night but not much else. There are a few things that need to be pointed out for the apartment manager and future guests. Access to the internet is really important to us as we required internet to book activities while on our holiday. Unfortunately upon arrival we found the internet not working and after communicating with the rental manager this was unable to be resolved during our stay. It was said to be fixed twice but it wasn't. The television was also difficult to operate and required retuning each time it was turned on. The house is very hot! Even with the curtains closed we woke up to a sauna in the living room and found it difficult to sleep. There are also cracked floor tiles in the main bathroom and the handle on the master bedroom feels like its about to fall off. The description says that tea, coffee and sugar was provided however there was only 2 tea bags and no sugar or coffee. Overall we found the description of the property to be misleading and we were left disappointed.

This was great place to stay for many reasons. The view over the lake over to the mountains is spectacular, it is far enough from town to be quiet but close enough for easy access. It is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the lake and then through the botanical gardens straight into town, or a bit quicker along the main road. If you prefer you can park your car in the garage space and tgen drive into town. We are a family of 5 including 2 teenagers and the unit was easily big enough to accommodate us. We would certainly stay here again and we recommend it to others visiting Queenstown.

My wife, daughter and myself were offered this apartment instead of another that we had enquired about, which was booked over the period we were in Queenstown. We accepted the offer and loved the apartment! The large bright livingroom has magnificent views out over the lake to the golf course on the other side, and down the lake arm to the Remarkables in the distance. Spectactular. The good size kitchen (fully equiped) is divided from the dining area by a bench/ledge. The main bedroom has a good en suite, and the main bathroom has the washing machine/dryer. All furnishings and equipment are very good quality. Highly recommend. Further points - takes about 15 minutes to walk to central Queenstown, with some steepish streets. - wifi is accessible from the apartment on a pay basis, through HQWiFi. The apartment seems to be half way between 2 nodes, so reception can be flaky. We found that the best spot in the apartment for reception was by the window at one end of the dining table. - supermarkets in central Queenstown are smallish and high priced. It is better to drive to the New World supermarket located in the Remarkables Park shopping centre near the airport. - there is no garage remote control that comes with the apartment, so garaging the car involves parking in the steep driveway, going into the complex through the front door and down the stairs to the garage to open the garage door from the inside. Then driving the car inside. A bit cumbersome really. - the apartment management was fantastic about locating and posting back to us a pair of shoes which had been left behind in the apartment on our departure.
