We stayed for 8 nights in Jan this year. We felt the description on this website was not accurate and a little misleading. I notified the owner of these and I see he may have altered a couple of 'amenties'. I have listed the main issues we had with the property-
No BBQ (was on list of facilitles) The most enjoyable thing while on holiday is a summer nights BBQ - we arrived with loads of meat/food for that and ended up cooking indoors every night
It stated 'NEW' kitchen, yet it had no microwave, no oven, 1 dirty teatowel, no teaspoons to even make a cup of coffee. One would think a new kitchen would at least have a bench mounted hob, but there was only an old 2 burner electric camping hotplate. Most frustrating was ONE plug in kitchen, so everytime you wanted to cook toast and boil jug/use hob you would be unplugging each appliance. I purchased and left a double adapter there ...
No clothes line (listed there was one) very difficult to dry towels, clothes ect over 8 nights for a family of five.
It states the property is on 3 acres, leading you to think you would have that space to yourself... there is another rental premises right behind cottage. The biggest issue for us was the owner lives just a few metres from the cottage. Although the owner was not intrusive, it should be noted he lives there as you feel your privacy is not your own. We were told the boundaries, and there was only a very small grass area that we could have access to.
We enjoyed our stay best we could but left feeling it was way overpriced for what it was, the owner really needs to invest a little time and money back into the property to bring it up to 'rental' status we feel.
