About this Holiday House

The property has two fully self contained Lockwood houses, joined together with a car port. These are on the absolute edge of Lake Taupo, with the most incredible views out across the lake. The price per night is $400 for the first four guests. This tends to mean that you all stay in the main house which looks out over Lake Taupo, and has a path front the lawn down to the Lake Front. Any extra guests are $30 per guest, per night, and the property can sleep up to ten guests, although this can be stretched to eleven with a pull out bed. All linen is included in the price, meaning that when you arrive all beds will be made up and waiting for you, as well as fresh towels etc.. We have a one off $120 cleaning fee per booking. A bond of $250 per stay per house is required. The house that looks over the lake sleeps 4 people. It has two bedrooms, 1 queen size bed and ensuite and the second bedroom has two single beds and an ensuite. The back house is connected to the main house with a large covered carport. It has no direct view of the lake however there is plenty of shared space in the main house for all guests to enjoy. This house sleeps six people, and has it's own lounge and kitchen. It has three bedrooms, one queen size bed with an ensuite, and the other two bedrooms have two single beds in each and are joined by a shared ensuite. The houses are absolutely lakefront,situated on the northern side of the lake just 2kms from from the centre of town.

After 6 stays here, we I felt it was time to sum up this property. It is an older Lockwood with a lovely sense of space and homeliness. It's position is 2nd to none with just the lawn and the "Lions Walk" to the lake front. No traffic, quiet neighbours, outdoor seating, great spa, spectacular views from all living areas. The hosts are wonderful people, very friendly and accommodating. We recommend this to anyone and will continue to stay and enjoy. Chris & Lyn

communication was not good from the start. house is tired snd outdated. one set of cleaners were there when we arrived. they were rushing hence why we had to clean bbq down from last tenants ourselves more cleaners turned up after the first lot left. not well organised. make sure u take note of any issues when you first arrive and photos or you may be blamed for things that were already there. basics of cleaning done but other areas needed attention. lots of cobwebs etc. dangetous timber decking poking out that stubbed a few toes .expected more :(

In response to the last three comments they are all under the same booking. Firstly it is quite clear that the property is listed as being holiday houses, not a camping ground!! The grounds including the lawns are often used for wedding photos and special events. Hence the fact it is clearly written in the terms and conditions at the houses, no parking on the lawn (except in the designated area). The tenants parked their boat and cars on the lawn along with pitching their tents. The linen is $60.00 each house and the houses sleep 10 people, 14 towels were given for their stay, some of the towels were so badly stained they had to be disregarded. Both queen size beds were urinated in so badly that the wool rest and electric blanket had to be thrown out. The fridges in both houses are in perfect working order. The tenants that stayed before these people and the tenants that are staying now for two weeks, have not had any problems at all with the fridges. We are extremely disappointed with how the houses were left after their stay and in all the 14 years of renting the houses we have never kept anyone’s bond until now!!

Terrible communication. No terms and conditions at time of booking then when we got there there were so many rules that should've been communicated in the beginning. Dirty BBQ and car port, spent good holiday time cleaning this and main house kitchen. Cob webs and dead bugs everywhere. Smoke alarms weren't active. Property is tired looking inside and back porch steps are hazardous. Fridges didn't work properly. Then they came up with all these excuses not to give bond back. Was such a horrible experience to have happen on our family holiday.
