About this Holiday House

The River Cottage is situated next to the beautiful Rangitikei River which is renowned for its great trout fishing. The cottage is a fully equipped self-contained 3 bedroomed house, with an open plan kitchen and dining area with one bathroom It is 40 minutes from Taihape and 1 hour 30 from Napier/ Hastings. Surrounded by beautiful country-side, the cottage is on a large sheep and cattle station. THERE IS NO CELLPHONE COVERAGE/INTERNET AVAILABLE. If required, cellphone coverage is approximately a 10 minute drive away. Check In: 2.00pm Check Out: 10.00am unless arranged otherwise.

Close walking distance to the Rangitikei River, good swimming in the summer months and great trout fishing. House is fully fenced, safe for children, cottage garden with out-dooor furniture. Please note: There is no cellphone coverage/internet available. If required, cellphone coverage is approximately a 10 minute drive away.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

The cottage is a 40 minute drive to Taihape, where there are lovely cafes and shopping. River Valley is 50 minutes away and offers people rafting and horse rides. There are walks about 40 minutes away in the opposite direction in the Kaweka Ranges for the more energetic people. Great fishing and swimming in the Rangitikei River.

I and 4 others stayed in the cottage on a fishing trip to the Rangitikei River, it is an older cottage but it is comfortable, and it fits our needs perfectly, I can recommend it to anyone.

Very satisfactory accommodation, stayed here three times. Would definitely recommend, very peaceful and comfortable lodgings.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, the fire heated the entire home making it so cozy and comfortable. The peace and quiet coupled with red wine and trout was the cherry on the top. We will definitely return to relax and catch fish!! Wonderful and accommodating host!
