Loved our stay at the Bach on the beachfront. It is a typical Kiwi bach, with pretty much everything you need for a self-catering stay. Has loads of parking - we took our wee boat up with us; a barbeque; a well-equipped and very functional kitchen and living areas where you felt right at home - nothing fancy, just good old-fashioned comfy couches and chairs - absolutely perfect for us. It has wonderful views straight out over Golden Bay, and we were lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the waves on the shorefront. I meandered across in the mornings for a swim, with a cuppa and just sat for ages ... enjoying the views and the peace and quiet. On the road to the bach there is an organic stall where you can purchase wonderful fresh veges. If you fancy a drive then Collingwood, and Cape Farewell/Farewell Spit aren't far, and we then ventured out onto the north west coast to the Patarau River mouth - parts of the country that are not overly visited, I would imagine. All in all a fabulous long weekend away, and would very happily return again.
