The Idlehouse is a unique, cosy, tree house-style cottage perched on the edge of Otago Harbour in our half-acre mature garden. Set only 10 mins drive from Otago Stadium, downtown Dunedin and the Otago University Campus, we offer stunning sea views of the bay, mature garden and surrounding hills. We also provide excellent unlimited wifi and cell coverage, superinsultation (new SIPs build+ double glazing) private off street parking, Continental breakfast, a sheltered garden deck and all linens. Last minute bookings and late/night check ins are always welcome. MAXIMUM STAY: 4 days unless negotiated in advance. The cottage provides a secure, private self-catering base for you to explore nearby attractions or simply relax for a few days of peace and privacy. Historic Port Chalmers sits right in the midst of beautiful Otago Harbour amid an array of increasingly renowned local walks, beaches and natural attractions. We are a leisurely stroll from Port's main street precinct where you can stock up on supplies at the local supermarket and visit the historic buildings, cafes, boutiques and studios. We live next door and while you won't usually see us after check in, we are almost always around to help if needed. We are proudly inclusive and welcome all genders, partnerships and nationalities.
