A refurbished Motel Complex, this is Unit D at 34 Tauranga Bay Rd, Kaeo ( approx 12min away by car) A 2 bedrm Unit that sleeps 8. Bdrm 1 - a Queen Bed; Bdrm 2 - a Bunk Set , a single and a fold up trolley bed ; Lounge - a Bed Settee A roomy lounge with a bit of nostalgia, with 2 couches and a table and 2 chairs , Sky TV ...Movies,Cartoons and Sport. A refurbished Bathroom, with heat fans and ducts (Low water pressure to some extent, it is what it is) A small Pantry kitchen, microwave, toaster, toastie machine, a plug in double element, electric frypan and fridge, then through the back door to a Mancave of sorts, Memorabillia, nick nacks, Juke Box (CDs, Bluetooth, AM,FM), a beer fridge, out through the back to "The Sand Bar" featuring a Tractor Bar and Stools , all under the verandah covering the rear deck . BBQ onsite . Fully fenced rear lawn area to "lock in the kids" Maybe set up the small kids pool in the Storage Room for them , out on the lawn ! In the Storage Room next door , there are Gas Bottles fr the BBQ and you will also notice in there, Rods, inflatables, kayaks ,life jackets and paddles. This is the tricky part because of the Health and Safety Regulations. The use of the gear stored (besides the BBQ Gas Bottles), is not part of the deal. However as this cannot be screened , we take NO RESPONSIBILITY, if any other equipment stored , is used by the Tenant and a mishap occurs. ALL CARE, RESPONSIBILITY and ONUS will lie with the Tenant supervising. Car Parking for 2 vehicles onsite, others will have to use Kerb side No "ALL NIGHT" parties A Shop for "basics" is available at the MotorCamp next door. During the Xmas /New Year period , the Camp has Movies for children under a Marquee, at no charge on a nightly basis . Whangaroa is a 10 min car ride and has a Shop/Museum, a Hotel with Accomodation and a Restaurant and opposite that is the Boat Club boasting the same as the Hotel. Next to the Boat Club is a Transfer Staion for Rubbish and Recyclables which must be bought here from the Unit. A FNDC endorsed Plastic Rubbish Bag(s) can be purchased at the Stores in Kaeo and Whangaroa and these must be used when depositing your rubbish at these Stations . The Unit is in a Block of 6 and is a 2 min walk to the large Reserve that opens up to Tauranga Bay . A small playground with swings and slides is adjacent to the well maintained FNDC Public Toilets . An out side shower is also attached to this Block There is a large lagoon, the size of 2 Rugby Fields , to the right of the Reserve and only waist deep , to an adult, at high tide, ideal for sailing , kayaking, kids swimming hole . It is advisible if kids are swimming, to use the furtherest point from the Reserve as because this is a tidal estuary which stretches inland to paddocks , there is often alot of silt that flows back on the out going tide and it seems to be dumped in one corner of the the Lagoon . Very muddy underfoot.... At the same time , the best area for swimming and espcially ....rafting , boogey boarding etc is at that far point where the out going tide from lagoon races in a shallow channel , to the sea , a great ride for the kids !! Sleeps 8 , possibly 10 if the covered in back deck is used for 2 more beds Rates are $50pp per night, min of 3 people, max of 8, min stay , 2 nights.
