Te Kohanga (the birthplace of the gods) is a home where you will truly feel right smack bang in the middle of the Southern Alps. Tastefully appointed the upstairs kitchen, living, dining and BBQ deck are on split levels giving larger groups and families plenty of space to spread out. Massive windows take advantage of thier elevation to allow uninterupted views of the mountain landscapes to dominate. The kitchen's mesmerising views of the iconic Torlesse Range make meal preparation time a pleasure. Ergonically designed a robust selection of appliances and utensils are never far from your fingertips. Large bi-fold windows take the kitchen outside to a level macrocapa bar and substantial BBQ/entertainment deck. Kitchen and dining areas are open-plan with the dining table nestled into a comfortable long window-seat at the opposite end of the room. Loads of cushions make this a magic spot in the afternoon for basking in the sun with a good book. There is a library adjacent with great selection of books to choose from. A few steps down from the kitchen is a cosy lounge heated by a large log burner. The comfortable furnishings make this a love place to relax or on a rainy day a excellent zone to play one or many of the games provided in the Entertainment cupboard. Downstairs there are four bedrooms, bathroom and separate toilet. Each of the bedrooms has a heater and electric blankets for your comfort. The bathroom has a well pressured shower and separate deep bath. Water is heated by gas so no worries about running out. On ground level a sizable studio with extra bed flows out to a large sunken-in deck, entertaining area and garden. Tucked away around the corner in the tussocks you will find an outside bath which is a must when during a snow storm. We provide fresh and clean bed and bathroom linen along with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap and hand santatiser. Also teatowels and cloths for the kitchen.
