This place is very nice, clean and has all that you need. Love the views from the bedroom and kitchen windows. The out door living is well designed. The fire heated the entire house quickly.
Communication with the owners was excellent.

We had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights last week. Unfortunately this was not long enough so if you are planning a trip here,3-4 nights would be a good start. The views are stunning, we ate out on the deck for every meal watching the tide roll in and out (Amazing deck). This is a beautiful part of New Zealand with a lot to offer.
We will definitely be back again.

We loved Dolphin House the first time around. It was just as wonderful for our second stay. We enjoy walking in the bush, strolling along the beach and sitting at the river mouth contemplating the rhythms of the tides. We even enjoyed a wet and stormy day watching the relentless ocean rearrange the foreshore. Dolphin House has everything required for a couple wanting a tranquil West Coast break. We are already looking forward to our next trip. Thanks Barbara and Roger for making Dolphin House available.

We LOVED our stay at Dolphin House. We have stayed in quite a number of holiday homes and both agree this is the absolutely the best of them. A spacious, comfortable living area, a huge outdoor space, both covered and open, and a comfy bed from which you can see the moon and the stars. Barbara and Roger were friendly and helpful. The house is full of interesting objects d’art and curiosities and has everything for an enjoyable stay. A wonderful vantage point for the changing tides, for the Ngakawau River and for West Coast sunsets. Thanks Barbara and Roger – we’re already planning next year’s return!

This house certainly surprises with the X factor. The position of the house is fantastic with gorgeous ocean and river views.. We enjoyed the comfy bed, with bedroom opening onto a lovely deck. Large TV with a selection of DVDs and CDs with a nice sound system. Kitchen well equipped with a large fridge freezer. Plenty of interesting books to relax with by the log fire. We are looking forward to returning for a cosy winter break. Great walks, don't miss Charming Creek walk into the Waterfall and back. Good
Eating places close by including Tommy Knockers in Granity overlooking the sea.Stay as many nights as possible as you will not want to leave, truly the area is one of the West Coasts best kept secrets.

The house has loads of charm and a real laid back West Coast feel. The weather was perfect while we were there. Having a beer on the deck while watching the sunset over the ocean was sooo relaxing. Dolphin House is our new favourite holiday house. It is light, spacious and warm. We arrived well after dark on a cold June evening and the house was surprisingly warm as it had retained the heat of the day and once the fire was lit we were really toasty. We loved everything about the house (comfortable bed and seating, the large open plan kitchen/dining/living, the bath big enough for two and the BIG deck) but the outlook is what will bring us back again soon.

Great place, perfect for a couple. Cozy, with wonderful views, a lovely deck, and attractive artistic touches around the place (beautiful stained glass, artwork etc). Decent quality saucepans (nice and heavy) and other kitchen equipment, which makes such a difference when trying to cook dinner.

Barb, the owner, was very flexible and helpful in accommodating our last minute booking. The perfect place to get away from the tourist crowds, and enjoy some solitude on a lovely part of the coast.

We found Dolphin House the perfect getaway for a couple. We loved it. It has everything needed for a break. If the weather is too wet it is a cosy home with TV or comfortable chairs for reading. There are a number of walks nearby and the beach is fascinating. We decided that we didn't want to cook so we ate at the pub/cafe over the road and in Granity. We certainly plan to visit Dolphin House again. Thanks Barbara and Roger for making it available
