There's heaps to do in the area: walking trails, hitting the local beaches, the harbour and estuary, golfing on a top NZ course, dining, shopping, surfing, fishing, a museum, vineyards, the Saturday morning market, and more. If you have kids, they'll love the Mangawhai Amusement Zone. The Mangawhai Tavern just down the road often has live music, especially during the summer months.
