Unsuitable as a holiday house. We arrived to a house with stripped unmade beds, unflushed toilet, dirty washing on laundry floor etc. We didn't stay because of the state it was in. We have tried to contact the owner several times but 3 weeks later have still not heard back from them. We would have given this house no stars if that was an option.

The host lives at this property. Maybe she should be promoting it as a house sit as she expects to feed her cat. Not a place I will recommend to anyone. Marion should take more care with cleaning, linen and general presentation even for house sitters (which I am not).

Lovely quiet location with fantastic views of the hills and lake from the living areas and the decking. The house is well presented and well equipped. It is situated in a handy location only 10 mins walk to a nice beach and ideal for a base for the Cathedral Caves, Petrified Forest etc. Marion is very friendly and helpful. One thing not mentioned in the property description is that it has good Spark cell phone coverage which is quite rare in the Catlins region.
