About this Holiday House

This unique and inspiring EcoLodge is situated within 50 acres of QEII Covenanted native forest adjacent to the Peel Forest Park. Special features of the Eco Lodge include solar electricity and water heating, wood stove and a large gas oven with 5 rings ,wood fired Pizza Oven, log fire, a grey-water wetland, timber lining and a large deck. Perfect for groups and families that enjoy the outdoors or for those who just want to get away for some peace and quiet. Also great as a venue for corporate groups for team building/meetings. The Lodge is accessible via a 5 minute walk through our beautiful bush and a vehicle track that takes you right to the site. Please Note. Linen is not provided and you will need to bring your own pillows. The lodge is off grid and as such does not have mains power supply with all electricity being provided via solar panels, batteries and power inverter. NO PETS.

Special Amenities

The EcoLodge is operated by Peel Forest Outdoor Centre. By prior arrangement we also offer rafting, kayaking, ropes course and other activities. The EcoLodge has a real sense of isolation yet is only a few minutes drive from 'The Green Man at Peel Forest' being the local bar and cafe. Great views of Mt Peel and the surrounding scenic reserve. Easy access to the new Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park at the head of the Rangitata Valley.

Great semi remote accommodation for multi family groups, our kids 2 and 4yo loved it stayed 2 nights. Extra admin of the off grid systems worth it for the experience, well documented. Good showers, toilets, lights, appliances.
