Explore South Hokianga, its beaches, majestic sand dunes and villages all the way to Waipoua Forest - home to the father of the forest ancient kauri tree 'Tane Mahuta'. 45 minute drive to Mitimiti the West Coast beach - where 'wild horses roam and mussels can grow as big as beer bottles!' St Mary's Church at Motuti - final resting place of Bishop Pompallier. Top of the harbour visit Mangungu Mission House where 63 tribal chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi.
