Had a wonderful time here over Xmas and New Years, lots to do glow worm caves were so special insane they are all nestled in your driveway. Great wild life spotting to sheep weka tuis and many more. Beach access was easy after the first run. You do have to be a bit creative to cook there all in the fun of batch life. Tony was great super helpful and friendly Thanks again

We stayed for 8 days in early January and our visit to Fantail Cottage was a fantastic family holiday experience. For our family of 6, plus our Nanny B, it was the perfect location. Quiet, spacious, relaxing, a beach to die for and a glow worm cave 20 metres from the back door! We rested, read, swam, played cards, collected mussels at low tide, talked, laughed and visited some of the local sights, galleries, sculptures and of course the Farewell Spit was a short drive away. And of course Takaka was a compete change of scene with plenty of cafes and shopping just 10 mins away. Gaylene was great to deal with and we highly recommend her and Fantail Cottage to families wanting someone lovely to deal with and a place to stay that is a complete change of pace.
