Warm and comfortable with garden and rural views the Little House offers a place to relax and rest or to use as a base to explore the area. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the garden and walk the stone labyrinth constructed from local Karamea granite.

A special place in a very special area.. Karamea offers outdoor activities or a place to stop for a while and come home to yourself. Bus transport to and from Westport except Sundays. There are bikes that you can borrow.

Close to both the Heaphy and Wangapeka tracks and the Oparara Arches. The beaches and Oparara lagoon are just 3 minutes by car or you can bike or walk. The start of the Fenian track with beautiful bush and caves to explore is just 5 minutes away

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the Little Cottage is in a fantastic location which has been thoughtfully and creatively done. The only unfortunate experience we had was not having access during our 4 night stay to the laundry facility nor the landline, which was advertised, and no wi-fi for a day, as the owner was not around. ( I e-mailed the owner to ask about the laundry and did not receive a response until 2 days later, after we had checked out!) On the plus side, we did have the place to ourselves, and the Little Cottage is a lovely place to retreat to and relax and enjoy the magic of Karamea!

Jesters Nest Little House is ideal for a couple or a family with younger children as there is a pull out couch in the lounge. Please enquire for rates for children.
The washing machine in main house can be used by guests by arrangement. There are flyscreens in the Little House for guests unused to sandflies.
Great news in 2015 Karamea now has good cellphone reception!
