Fabulous very large apartment with outstanding views of Wellington harbor and at night the city lights... We are so happy we choose this apartment. Trying to choose an apartment from our home in the USA , we were taking a risk as you never know even with photos what you will get. WOW... This places was even better than the description and photos! The proximity to shops, restaruants, Cuba Street, Courtney Place, Bus and easy walk to the waterfront and CBD made this a wonderful place to stay in Wellington We easily walked daily to the CBD and Lambton Quay along the waterfront. . We enjoyed having the large very well equipped kitchen to prepare our meals. Spacious dining room and living room with HUGE picture window that faces the water.. You won't believe the views.. They are just mesmerizing.
We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony looking at the water after our long days touring Wellington and all it has to offer.
It was very much appreciated to have a washer and dryer to use and both are large and work extremely well!
Even though we were just a couple, it was really terrific to have the 2nd bathroom, which we have heard is a rarity here in Wellington apartments.
Lots of daylight in this apartment and cozy anteroom area with many books and beautiful artwork throughout the apartment.
The bed had very lovely soft linens and was extremely comfortable, one could either leave the drapes open and enjoy the wonderful water and city light view or pull the drape closed for a dark room..
You do need to walk up steps to reach the apartment but it is worth every step to have the outstanding views and really just lovely apartment. We will definelty stay here again next time we come to Wellington to visit our daughter.

This is a wonderful flat. I stayed for 3 months, my second visit. It is filled with interesting art and books, the view is endlessly entertaining, the kitchen is well equipped, the TV works well, and the landlord is responsive. The hill is steep, but it is good exercise and that's how you get to the view. To get groceries, one can take a taxi from the lower level at the nearby New World supermarket which is very good. The flat is close to cinemas, theatres, Te Papa, the farmers' market, and the Mount Victoria walks, as well as the Oriental Bay beach.

My wife and I stayed here in mid February 2016 when visiting from Australia on a combined motoring NZ holiday with a Cricket watching sideline. We were overwhelmed with the accommodation and its location to the harbour, City, shops, restaurants and of course the Basin Reserve. The view is priceless. The Unit is spacious, bright and homely. At night sitting in the dark with a quiet drink looking out at the City and harbour lights was an experience in itself. Arrangements for the booking with John could not have been easier. Don't worry about the steps, it is worth the effort. I know where we will stay next time we will be in Wellington.

What an amazing find... absolutely the perfect place from which to enjoy Wellington. The view is unbelievably brilliant. I couldn't get anything done whilst staying there, just spent all my time watching the harbour and the city, night and day. Great location - very close to the city and Oriental Parade (just a quick walk down the hill).

The apartment itself is beautiful, tidy and very comfortable A lot of time and effort has obviously gone in to making sure everything is perfect. It has everything you could need... and more. It is also very sunny and warm. And has both a terrace and an outdoor area.

I will most definitely be back. I can't imagine I'd find a better apartment for a perfect stay in Wellington.

John and Sarah's home was exactly the kind of place I was looking for to take a week long break in Wellington. It could not be in a better location to enjoy the city. And the view when you first walk in the door will most definitely take your breath away. I had many a lovely hour sitting at various vantage points by the windows, watching the weather roll in and out. So many lovely touches make you feel right at home. The kitchen was a delight to cook in, the bed cosily made up, the fireplace ready to go and stacks of interesting books to choose from. It does indeed feel like a well loved and quite beautiful home. I made the easy walk down to the city every day at least twice (and got faster and fitter at walking back up the hill again!) This is the perfect spot to take in all that Wellington has to offer. I look forward to staying again, so many thanks to John and Sarah for sharing their little treasure,

We stayed at the apartment for eight nights at the end of April whilst visiting family in Wellington. From the moment we arrived we felt completely at home - everything you could possibly need is there. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, every kitchen utensil/appliance you can name available, bed extremely comfortable, even books and CDs are in situ ! All I can say about the sunroom, balcony and that view is 'WOW' !! Stunning by day and magical by night as the city lights up before you. Access to the city is really quick too - a 10-15 minute walk along the waterfront.

If we ever visit Wellington again from the UK, we'll definitely be heading back to Hawker Street - strongly recommended !

We enjoyed our stay here immensely. John communicated on a regular basis to keep in touch until we arrived and were settled and was quick to answer any enquiries we had. He provided a list of suggested eating places, activities and art dealers and a box of brochures and pamphlets which were most useful. We were enthralled with the amazing view of the harbour and surrounding hills from their large picture window and the magic of the lights at night. We often found we were content just to spend time absorbing the view.
The apartment is spacious, sunny and comfortable with intriguing art objects and hangings and everything one needs for a long stay. It is an easy walk to many restaurants, cafés, a cinema, art shops, shopping areas, Te Papa, a supermarket and the wharf. I felt safe staying the last week here on my own. Thank you John and Sarah for a wonderful holiday stay.

I so enjoyed my 5 nights solo at this apartment (more like a house to me!)

Spiffy & central location, super spacious - 2 lounge areas, sun-room, dining, big bedroom, fab’ kitchen, separate laundry (quality washer & dryer), shower, heated towel railings, outdoor area etc

A feminine feel to this home

Nice touches - stylish lamps, streams of lights - my kind of thing

Safe, private, modern yet brimming with old character

Immaculately clean

Enjoyed candle lit soaks in a big bath & blissfully quiet sleeps on quality linen & comfy bed (room smelt lovely - frangipani or vanilla?)

Discovered new nik naks & artwork, books & music each day

And yes, yes, magical views of city & harbour … day & night

Loved Wellington’s hilliness - feel fitter already!

Great streetscape on Hawker, breathtaking views all directions

Superb value! Excellent communication with owners. Thank you.
