About this Holiday House

An original Kiwi style smaller basic bach on the waterfront with magnificent views down Queen Charlotte Sound, ideally suited to a family of 4 or 5. Bach is tidy and cosy with microwave, outdoor furniture, canoe, concrete BBQ, etc. Has a large flat grassed area for parking cars, boats and playing games, etc. Community jetty and launching ramp a stones throw from bach. Mooring also available for small charge. Approx. 1 hours drive from Nelson and approx. 25 minutes drive from Picton by sealed road. Beautiful walks and beaches close by. Licensed lodge, store, takeaways and petrol station 5 minutes drive from bach

Location, Location, Location. This is the (only) reason to stay in Boulty´s Bach. It is right at the shore of the sound, and the view from the main sleeping room is beautiful. The bach itself, however, issmall and well worn. The second sleeping room is dark, the electrical appliances and kayaks are old). We traveled through NZ for 9 weeks, from bach to bach, and this one was pretty much at the bottom of our list. But, as I said, the location is really nice.

As the saying goes you can keep most of the people happy most of the time but you can't keep all of the people happy all of the time. The Bach is clearly described as An original Kiwi style smaller basic Bach. It is listed as having a canoe not kayaks and all of the appliances while not new are tidy and in good working condition. The back bedroom has 2 x windows and in 15 years I have never has a negative comment from any other party as to it being dark.The repeat families I have had over the years and still receive are testament that the Bach meets the standards, expectations and requirements of many. It is important to note that this is a Bach and not a house and if I was to replace it I feel that the increased charges that I would have to apply would put it out of financial reach for many families.

Loved this bach! We have hired quite a few around the sounds and this one although basic was our favourite. It has a large section with great views of the sounds. Walk across the road to the beach where the kids had fun collecting shells, looking for crabs and fishing from the wharf. It has no TV which made us really appreciate sitting and listening to the birds and the sea! Main bedroom has amazing view of the sounds and other room had kids toy box under the bed which they had fun with. Lots of parking for boat and room for kids to run around. Was a really relaxing stay, thank you hope to come again soon!
