The ultimate eco-experience. The red barn is a rustic, purpose built barn house set in stunning mature bush setting on a 6 acre property bordered by extensive bush reserves and the Kaimai forest park with views out over the Tauranga harbour and Pacific ocean. 20 mins by car to the white sands of Waihi Beach, 30 mins to Tauranga, 5 mins to Morton Estate Vineyard and restaurant and access to literally hundreds of kilometres of bush walking and mountain bike tracks.
The property has an abundance of wildlife and is set in heritage grade bush, with the lovely sound of Tui's a constant throughout the day. Open up the barn doors and let the sun flood in. The Red Barn is the ideal place to relax and get away from it all. The property is also ideally situated so you can explore the Western Bay and beyond. Ideal for families of up to four/five that want to spend some quality time together. Also ideal for couples.
The Barn itself is basic but warm, clean and inviting. Many of our guests remark on the unique surroundings. We are negotiable for tariff on longer term stays.

Very happy with our 3 night stay with our 6, 9 and 10yr olds. The kids loved it too, a beautiful setting with short travelling distances to so much! We loved that we were so close to the things we wanted to see and do and yet felt beautifully isolated at the end of the day. Glow worm "hunting" was great fun for the kids. Bush walk was lovely too. No curtains in the sleeping zone made for some late bedtimes and early rising but nobody complained. We definitely recommend a stay here. :)

Our young family loved our five night stay at the red barn! The kids loved the outdoor bath and seeing the bee hives, and walking through the awesome bush walks, and we even got to toast marshmallows on the outdoor fire to celebrate New Year's (at 7.30pm!). Two tips for young families to get the best out of the red barn: if you have kids that need darkness to sleep then bring something to hang over the windows upstairs as there are no curtains. And bring some rope to hang if you plan to do washing. Great experience! Thanks so much!

Basic tidy, clean house but what an incredible location, we LOVED it, if ever back in the North Island it would be a must stay.

Lovely quiet spot. Great birdlife and native bush. Plenty to go and see in neighbouring towns, beaches and scenery. Loved the red barns outdoors shower.
