Special Amenities

Tucked away at the end of a country valley, Paripuma is a magical and earthy beachside paradise, at times afflicted with wild coastal weather. Its views are completely unobstructed - East over Cook St and the Pacific Ocean, and North over Cloudy Bay to Port Underwood and the striking Vernon Bluffs, after which the property is named. With the Pacific coast on the doorstep you can stroll along the beach for hours, surfcast, swim in the lagoon, and, when in season, go whitebaiting at the Awatere River mouth, just a short walk away. For surfers, a renowned right hand point surf break lies right in front of the property. Hector's Dolphins often play at the river mouth, and whales can be seen offshore. You are welcome to explore the 14 hectare property. Towels and outdoor cushions are available for picnics and swimming.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

MARK JOHNSON
Wow, just wow! We were blown away by our stay at Paripuma. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Michael and Rosa are exceptional hosts who take great pride in their home and truely enjoy sharing it with guests. The grounds and gardens are a true labour of love and are gorgeous. We took so many photos of the house and gardens that I have spent hours picking out the best. We used an entire half day exploring and picnicking on the miles long beach where we were the only people. Your accomodation is a separate wing of the house where the owners lived for three years during construction of the main house. Therefore it is extremely comfortable with two large, very luxurious beds with premium linens, pillows and duvets. There is a cozy fireplace, a very functional kitchen stocked with provisions for breakfast and a huge bathroom with an enormous clawfoot bathtub to soak in. If you do plan to stay (which I most highly recommend) just make sure you bring what you will need for meals and plenty of beverages to enjoy in this idyllic corner of New Zealand.

We had a fabulous time in a gorgeous, very private and fully equipped big apartment with fire place, nestled in a stunning, award winning humongous garden right by the sea- plenty of adventure and exploring to be done. Thank you again Rosa and Mike for all the treats and details, making us feel so very welcome and spoiled! We loved the architecture and interior, so tasteful and sophisticated! Amazing beds, linen, bath and shower. Even in the bathroom- everything was provided. The location is both off the beaten track yet close enough to shopping (if wished), cafes, restaurants and so forth. Marlborough sounds are easily accessed and we loved coming home, driving through vineyards and rolling hills. Again thank you so much Rosa and mike for having us, you were awesome hosts! John& Katja

Incredible home and gardens. Certainly one of the most unique places that I have stayed in. Fantastic hospitality from the hosts. Great sized beds, powerful showers and a lovely cosy fire.
