This serviced bach is built on a sand dune (one row back from the beach) with views of the sea and Kapiti Island. A continental breakfast is provided for the duration of your stay. Bathroom, kitchen, dining, living and a study area are downstairs with a mezzanine bedroom above with queen size bed. While the bach is best suited to two adults the fold out sofa in the living room can be used to sleep extra friends or family. A cleverly designed louver over one window, and a light curtain over the opposite window, allow for generous views to the north and south while ensuring no one can see in.

Had a lovely weekend at Te Horo, Adrienne was a very helpful and welcoming host. The bach is simple yet modern, and warm even without the fire! All the little touches - local fruit and jams, home made muesli, croissants and bagels ... as well as quality towels and bed linen. Ruggedly beautiful Te Horo beach is minutes away, and Peka Peka, Otaki and Waikanae driving distance for day trips. Can recommend The Front Room at Waikanae Beach - excellent food & service. Great for a weekend getaway!

This is a fantastic little getaway spot. We travelled up after work on a Friday, and as it is just over an hours drive, we still had most of the evening to relax and enjoy. The log fire cranks out heat so it was warm and cosy even on what turned about to be a reasonably cold wet and stormy weekend. Generous healthy breakfast provisions were provided within the rate - lots of choice and delicious!. The cottage was comfortable, well thought out with great little vistas to the sea. The kitchen is well appointed, with some staples which is always handy on a weekend away. The whole place was clean and tidy, we wanted for nothing.

We're really looking forward to heading back in the summer to enjoy the garden and beach which is a stone's throw away. This really is a great-value-for-money little gem.

We loved being able to drop everything in Wellington and come on up knowing everything was included - breakfast, linen, cleaning etc. It made for the perfect quick getaway, and at a very reasonable price. Loved the design of the bach too. It's cozy and comfortable despite the minimalist style, well stocked with firewood for the wood burner and a comfortable bed and beanbags. Great spot!

My partner and I have stayed here a number of times over the last few years and absolutely love it. Besides the wonderful location within view and earshot of the beach, but just far enough away to sheltered from the whistling winds. The wonderful design of the bach is an absolute treat in itself and as keen foodies we love the attention to even the smallest details. Chopping boards, colander, sharp knives and the addictive home made muesli. Even just one night feels like a proper escape.

The only thing to fault was the lack of curtains in the master bedroom. It means that neighbours on both sides can see in. It is especially weird given how thoughtful the little touches were!
