We are ideally situated for a nights stopover. We even have a bath to soak away the days aches and pains. An evening meal is available on request - we will also provide you with a packed lunch if required. Free WiFi We cater for two people looking for a peaceful vacation (there is also a double sofa bed for additional guests if required, however cottage is more suited for a couple). A portacot is available on request for infants. Generous Breakfast provisions for cooked and continental breakfast. Enjoy our home made preserves, baking and farm fresh eggs! Surrounded by native trees, bush walks and farmland. Quiet situation. 1.4 km from SH2 (down Wakefield Street). Off street parking. Watch native birds cavort in our trees, feed our horses and chickens or the lambs in spring. Outdoor garden area for alfresco dining. Easy walking distance to Featherston township, wedding venues, Anzac Hall and railway station also bush walks and cycle trail. One hour's drive to Wellington Airport.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

Featherston - gateway to the Wairarapa - was the hub of activity earlier last century. War Horses were trained on the hills of our neighbour's farm for the first world war (the tracks are still visible and used). A Museum tells the tale of events at the Prisoner of War camp which was nearby and the Fell Museum brings to life the Fell Engine which once chugged over the Rimutaka Hill We are five km from the base of the Tararua Ranges for hiking and river swimming. Two minutes to the start of bush walks. Museums. We are also on the Rimutaka Cycle trail route. A good hop-off point (10 minutes) in either direction to the vineyards and concert venues in Martinborough or the historic township of Greytown. Historic Lake Ferry pub and its famous fish and chips are just 40 minutes away, while in that area take in the wonderful panoramic views whilst driving the coast to Palliser Bay Light House and Ngawi Fishing village.
