Fabulous home with everything you could possibly need. Settled amongst nature with stunning views - very peaceful.

Perfect little getaway! Hidden up in gorgeous scenery with a picture-perfect reading nook in the window sill. Sip your morning coffee or read a book while looking out over nothing but nature and you can pretend all that the light touches is your kingdom. The place is spaceous, the beds comfy, the showers are great - spacious, good water pressure and nice and hot. It has a small but functional kitchen and plenty of parking - do pay attention to how you park though. We parked lazy - nose first perpendicular to the road - and ended up scraping the bottom of the car when backing out again; park smart at a slant and it's all good!

LOCATION It's a good location if you don't feel the need to walk everywhere. You can walk (10 minutes) to a dairy/takeaway and another 5 takes you to restaurant, bar, other motels. It doesn't feel too isolated but still gets you out of the hustle and bustle of town. You can get to Countdown Waitangi in 5 minutes drive; Kerikeri is 20 the other direction. We got to the other side of Paihia in just other 10 minutes. VIEWS Excellent estuary views. You've got beautiful window seats, a deck, and a small upstairs balcony, all sharing the same view. CLEANLINESS Very good. It felt airy, clean, and nice on arrival. The wooden floors make vacuuming etc a breeze, and the very hot water makes cleaning dishes easy (we didn't use the dishwasher). Washing machine did a good job. KITCHEN Everything you could need from stove to oven to toaster to jug to pots, pans, knives, and utensils. Fridge and freezer were spacious enough for a full family. BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS The master is beautiful and spacious with a nice en suite. We actually preferred the downstairs bedroom as it was just the three of us, so privacy wasn't a big issue. Downstairs is bigger with a bit more light and air. Both bathrooms are immaculately clean with great water pressure. The second upstairs bedroom is ideal for a child. The downstairs double doesn't get views but is still a very nice room and perfect for storing luggage. LOUNGE/OPEN SPACE Big, airy, good for dining, reading, sightseeing, watching TV. STAIRS Not as scary as mentioned! Yes there are 25 stairs but the handrail is good and on the other side you have a retaining wall. PARKING Space for two big cars easily. Would we come back? Absolutely. About the only thing I'd want would be extra fans in the other bedrooms, but if we come back we'll just bring our own. I recommend this place highly.
