Anyone looking at this place if you have any doubts, forget them, just go. Everything you need is there, much thought and expense has been put into this comfortable holiday house and would gladly live there all-year round. Paul & Katalina are very nice friendly & helpful hosts.
Lovely beaches all around. Recommend picking up a good supply of groceries at supermarket at Coopers beach as there is only a Dairy and bottle shop in Whatuwhiwhi. We had a great 2 week holiday, couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay.

Highly Recommended Stay here @ Karikari Lodge. Hosts Paul & Katalina are amazing. Thank you Paul for taking the kayaks to Tokerau Beach for the boys to use & your Tuatua fritters were absolutely gorgeous for the last meal of our stay. Your holiday house is a home away from home feel, with the comforts & conveniences of a quality hotel only better ! Its great to know we could park the Harley in a safe & secure place and the convenience of having access to the gorgeous beaches practically at the door step. We would love to return for another stay in the near future again. **********

We had a fantastic family holiday staying at Karikari Lodge. Paul and Katalina were wonderful hosts (the baking was superb and the tuatua fritters were sublime). They have a vast knowledge of the area, so we were able to experience the best surfing and fishing on the peninsula as well as explore the cape. The golf was great, the quad biking even better and that waterhole was a hit.

Sublime is the only way to describe our stay at Karikari Lodge. Paul and Katalina have gone to a lot of trouble to set up the Lodge in such a way as to minimise stress for the holidaymaker. Once you are there, you will not want to leave as everything is at hand from beautiful beaches, great wineries, through to just chilling out. The best way to describe a stay at Karikari Lodge is that it is a holiday experience that matches those wonderful summer holidays of our childhood.

As a high-level quadriplegic, I can also endorse this place as being great from a wheelchair user perspective. Everything is there to allow you to chill out and enjoy your holiday, rather than worry about access, wheel in showers, and the usual concerns one has when travelling.

Karikari Lodge rocks!!

We have just completed our sixth consecutive yearly stay @ Karaikari Lodge. We book for a week in January. We are a family of 4. For us the holiday is a complete break away for us from our busy lives in Auckland. The area offers us endless opportunities to do many things such as fishing, walking, kyaking, barbecues, visiting friends, swimming and exploring the many beaches. Further the Lodge gives us all the comforts to relax. It is quiet, clean, modern and spacious. We leave the final ingredient to last !!!.
That is our hosts, Paul & Katalina. They are very special people who think of everything to look after us and make sure we are comfortable and inform us of the many things to do in the area.We especially recommend them as the perfect hosts. The Lodge and the area are very special to us.

We stayed for a week at the end of February. My son was married at the Winery on the 29th. Our group was my mother 85yrs, my partner and our two children 12 and 9 and my cousins and their husbands. The bach worked well for all ages in our group. It was a great place to come back to at the end of each day and played a key part in what was a wonderful week. Would strongly recommend this bach to those looking for a base to enjoy this wonderful part of NZ. Thansk Paul for all your assistance when the weather upset our arrival plans.

One word to describe, HEAVEN! First the Home is Beautiful, From the moment I walked into the KariKari Lodge, I knew this was the place to totally Relax and let all the stresses of life Disappear. Owners and Host, Paul and Katalina are the best, they did a SUPER Job of making me feel welcome and showing me around the area. 110% Very Happy. They are the best. Thank you so much!

Second, The People of Whatuwhiwhi are the best in the world, they all have welcomed me to the area, taken me to the Beautiful beaches, shopping and tips on all the local hotspots for surf fishing. The Bayview Service Station/Bottle shop, which is just a 2 min walk from the lodge, Terry, Reawyn and Michelle, all are super cool and very helpfull with any questions one might have.
Just across the road is a Lovely Coffee shop with wonderful coffee and a out of this World Roast Beef Dinner. Next door is Auntie Barbs with Very Tastie Fish and Chips and she and staff are very very super cool people. Last is The Info Center, Tony Can handle all your Special activies while here...from Fishing to Day trips and site seeing, to even Real Estate.
So, if your looking to relax and enjoy life, this place is the best of the best.
