Matai House is a neat getaway both in Winter and Summer.

There is lots of space to relax both inside and outside, including a large deck and big flat outdoors space.

Matai House has polished Matai floors and is very well appointed. The kitchen is a real cook's kitchen and is first rate.

The house accommodates up to 8 people in four bedrooms. There are two bedrooms both with queen sized beds and a third bedroom with a double-bunk (2 down, 1 up). The fourth bedroom is a Sun Room, connected to the house via the carport. It has a double sized pull out Futon Style sofa bed. It's more suitable for older kids or adults.

The kitchen and dining areas are together, with a table that seats 6, which makes for easy catering for family groups.

In summer, enjoy the outdoor spaces, surf, sand hills, Tararua Forest Park and sunny deck.

In winter, Matai House is warm with a firebox and firewood supplied, and is well insulated. Enjoy a quiet time, beach walks, DVDs, outlet shopping stores, brunch and dining experiences.

There is a big 42" telly in case it's wet and a great stereo system. Bring your CDs and DVDs. There is also a good collection of music. Bring your iPod/iPad or music devices which are able to be connected to the stereo via Bluetooth.

There is a minimum two-night stay year round.
