A building with a family connection (my grandad used to send telegrams from the small room off the main bedroom) so it was nice to connect to him in the space. A fascinating space with options for a small number, or for a large group. There was everything we needed, and we were cosy and warm with the blessings of fresh eggs, fruit and baking too. The microwave was a bit tricky as we are both short (5 foot and under 5 foot), so we needed to stand on a chair to use it, but apart from that, everything was very user friendly. I loved the local history books, and was able to do lots of family research.

Lovely people to deal with. Left a watch behind and they contacted us before we knew we had lost it! Returned rapidly. An interesting home.

Delightful house. Delightful owners. A privilege to stay, a privilege to meet. We loved the house - tastefully and thoughtfully furnished to suit its era. Clean, comfortable, well appointed but also with its surprises like the original walk-in safe. Would happily stay again and we all regretted our stay was for only one night. We very much appreciated the fresh feijoas and farm eggs. The house is close to the fish and chip shop and the Pukka tavern is within walking distance. We opted for the former as we wanted to stay in and enjoy the house. Thanks Jan and Bill for a most congenial stay in your lovely house. And sincere thanks for the transport offer when bad weather threatened our cycle trip. Fortunately for us, not required and we were able to pedal on. Nga mihi nui.
