The nightly rates are based on a 2 person stay, with additional a maximum of 2 additional being able to stay in the cottage (modern sofa bed) please enquire.

If a quiet getaway in a quaint but well-appointed stone hut is what you're after, then this is for you. A great spot, private, very cool restored historic stone hut with all the modern things the modern traveller needs.

The pictures do not really do this cottage justice. it is gorgeous the best accommodation on our 25 day trip. We stayed for Christmas and so enjoyed our time just sitting in the garden reading and drinking the wonderful local wine. Unfortunately for us we did not get to meet the owners Matt and Lisa but everything was left ready for us and we hope we left it just as clean for the next people. We loved the location being so close to Arrowtown, Queenstown and Cromwell but just far enough away to feel able to relax in quiet ruralness. I hope we will return to NZ one day and when we do this property will be top of our wish list.

Loved our "all too brief" time in Warbrick Cottage in such beautiful and peaceful surroundings. We were warm, cosy, and very comfortable, with the open fire being "the icing on the cake". Will definitely stay again!

We have stayed at this delightful cottage a couple of times. Both visits were winter time and the cottage was very cosy and warm. Matt our host supplied unlimited firewood and if you let him know what time you are arriving he will have the fire up and running when you arrive. The cottage is ideal for a couple
and the kitchen/ ensuite bathroom areas are great and the bed very comfortable.
Pets are welcome and our dog loved it. The area is lovely with the wineries within walking distance or a very short drive. We loved the recently opened Gibbston River Trail which follows the river - great views and gives access to the wineries without having to walk along the main road. Cannot recommend the cottage highly enough - we go again in June and we are hoping for snow!

My husband and I stayed in the cottage over a 10 day period. Matt and Lisa were very accommodating with our every need being catered for. We particularly enjoyed the locality of the cottage with it being a stones throw from Arrowtown and it's lovely restaurants, Queenstown ski fields and local wineries. We are hoping to return to the Gibbston Valley wine region and the comfort of the cottage again in the new year.

Nearby attractions & activities

Walking distance to 3 local wineries and local walking trails to Nevis Bluff, Mt Rosa and Coal Pit Road from the door.
Situated directly on the new Gibbston River Trail you can bike to the Gibbston Tavern, Peregrine Winery, Gibbston Valley winery and AJ Hacket Bungy bridge. Then continue directly onto the Queenstown Trails to Arrowtown and Queenstown from the door. Easy access to the Gibbston Valley station new Rabbit Ridge bike trails recently opened.

Gibbston is 10 minutes drive to Arrowtown and 20 minutes to Queenstown Airport.
Cromwell and Bannockburn are 20mins drive.
Wanaka is 40mins either via the Crown Range or by going through Cromwell.

The cottage is easy access to all activities in and around Queenstown and very handy to the many ski fields in both Queenstown and Wanaka in the winter.
