Mountain for skiing is 1 Hour and close to all local tourist attractions,Turangi 10 mins drive. Local hot mineral pools 10 mins away. Beautiful walk tracks are all right in the door step. Taupo is 40 Min drive for day trip, dinner, or tourist adventures.
