About this Holiday House
A modern, self-contained two-bedroom home built in 2021 in quiet Atawhai, offering sea views across Tasman Bay and relaxed indoor-outdoor living.
Well suited to couples, small families, or guests wanting a peaceful base close to the city, just a five-minute drive away.
Guests are welcome to use the stand-up paddleboard and mountain bike, with the Haven Estuary and waterfront cycleway located approximately 300m down the road for calm paddling and scenic rides into town.
The space
Downstairs
The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area is comfortable and practical, ideal for relaxed meals and everyday living. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, cooktop, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and essential appliances. A heat pump provides heating and air conditioning, with double glazing throughout adding comfort.
Bedroom two is also downstairs and features a double bed and sliding door access to the deck. Lighting in the living area and bedrooms is on adjustable dimmers. Toys and books can be provided for younger guests on request.
The beautifully tiled bathroom features brush-brass tapware, a vessel basin, and a rain shower.
Step outside from the kitchen and dining area to a private, sun-drenched patio with outdoor seating.
Upstairs
The main bedroom is a spacious loft style retreat with ocean views. This light-filled space includes a 2 seater couch and a king-size bed, offering a calm and comfortable place to unwind and enjoy sunset views.

Travelling with bikes or outdoor gear? A lockable storage shed is available for guest use, perfect for safe and secure bike storage.
The estuary and public boat ramp (for paddleboard launching) are approximately 300 metres away. This property is not waterfront.
With the cycleway at the end of the road, you can enjoy a scenic ride by the Haven all the way into central Nelson, taking most riders approximately 20 minutes by bike.
A bus stop is just 100m away for an easy trip into town.
Guest access
The entire home is yours to enjoy during your stay. Our main house is adjacent but a completely separate building, you’ll walk under our deck to reach your private entrance. Once inside, you’ll have full privacy and likely won’t notice we’re nearby. Off-street parking is available for one car.

*Upstairs bedroom is loft-style with no door separating levels; sound travels between floors
*Most comfortable for one couple or a small family; two couples can be accommodated, though the downstairs living area is compact
*A small deck off the downstairs bedroom also serves as an entrance. It is a walking platform without a railing, with an approximate 90cm drop to the garden, care is required, particularly with children.
