We built and designed our Bach for accommodating a large family or to bring 2 families together on holiday in beautiful Oakura. The main house has 2 parent rooms, laundry and bathroom, open plan kitchen lounge flanked by a bunk room, joined by a covered deck. (See pictures). The bunk room has a toilet and basin. The idea is to throw the children in the bunk room and retreat to the main house with books, g’n’t or coffee, or converse and relax on the deck. Your pooch is welcome, but try to keep outside, and if the animal is not leaper, should be contained unless a gate I’d left open. Ditto for toddlers -they are allowed inside though. The outside shower (hot and cold) should de-sand and de-salt you after your return from your swim or surf. There is also a rolling outdoor bath that can filled via the shower. We’ve deliberately not installed wifi to discourage device usage, and encourage interaction, but have a reasonable curated collection of DVDs. Cell coverage is a strong 4G on most networks thanks to an iron tree up the hill. We have a proper coffee machine and supply 200g beans or a pod machine. There are 2 sit on kayaks, one single and a double with beach trolleys and a SUP. There is also a stitch and glue touring kayak that can be used with permission and care. A 10 foot dinghy with oars and anchor on a beach trolley. You are welcome to bring your own outboard. You can park your boat or cars on the drive, frontage or berm.
