Great location, the chickens and the dogs were awesome. Well equipped for a four night stay with heaps of towels, lots of kitchen equipment etc and really good if you’ve got a group travelling." Emma January 2022 "Lovely stylish space! Great location for kids, includes games and a big section. We had a wonderful time :)" Daniel January 2022 "We loved the stay. We had a quiet and relaxing time with lots of nature sound around. Kids had lots of fun time on the long grass area and watching chickens in the cage. Thank you for all the complimentary food and beverages." Mani January 2022 "We absolutely loved the entire experience, we had at this cottage. Spa pool experience was one of the highlights. Thank you for the wonderful ambience and hospitality." Rupesh January 2022 "Absolutely amazing stay to say the least! We took our two boys away here and it ticked every box imaginable where we made plenty of memories over New Years. The thoughtfulness and how accomodating the hosts are with every fine detail from the fridge to the shower was beyond our expectations and stands out from any Air BnB we’ve stayed at before. We will definitely be returning at some point in the future. Thank you Kylie and Mike you have a lovely place!" Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

Close to Otaki forks, the railway station & village shops and a short distance to Otaki beach and a number of Kapiti Coast wedding venues. Otaki is the northern most town on the Kapiti Coast and the Wellington region and is the half way point between Palmerston North and central Wellington. In Te Reo Maori the place name means "place of sticking a staff into the ground". The district is agricultural, with market gardens and Saturday and Sunday local markets. There are recreational walks and cycling along the river and north of the mouth of the river is Otaki Beach. The safe sandy beach is popular as a swimming and fishing destination. We also host the annual Maoriland Film Festival and Otaki Kite Festival. Close by is Otaki Forks, the western gateway to the Tararua Forest Park. It offers recreational activities ranging from short walks, swimming, rafting and kayaking to advanced tramps of 3 – 5 days duration, including the Southern Crossing that ends at Kaitoke 45 km northeast of Wellington.
