About this Holiday House

Sleep in a four-poster and awake to birdsong in this cottage filled with the character and charm of yesteryear. Nestled in the bush just a short stroll from the lake shore, it’s the perfect romantic retreat or cosy base for those wanting to explore beautiful Nelson Lakes National Park. Suitable for up to three adults (a couple and a single - although the cottage can accommodate 1-2 more if they are children, as the other beds are bunks. Enjoy the classic Kiwi bach experience at this heritage holiday retreat. All linen provided. If you wish to bring children and/or pets, please enquire.

Charming and comfortable period cottage with everything you need for a peaceful escape nestled in the bush and only minutes from the lake.

We stayed 4 nights in this character filled cottage, full of history, and it was perfect for our needs. Nestled among beech trees, it is quiet and private. It is a very short walk from the lake frontage and a short drive from the general store and Alpine Lodge, which makes great pizzas. The cottage is well appointed, had everything we needed, including several heaters and a fire for the chilly mornings and evenings, even in summer. The owner was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating when our arrival was delayed by a day due to Cyclone Gabriella.

What a beautifully presented cottage that's part of St Arnaud history! It was spotless and had everything we need - super comfy linen and beds, kitchen stuff, neat historical knick-knacks, and even home-made dog treats for our dogs! The location is spot on - only a couple of minutes walk to the lake and lodge. And being set in the bush, it gave us a nice cool retreat from the summer heat. Communication was warm, friendly, and easy - thanks so much!
