The place was an animal lovers haven. Very nice location. Had a nice relaxing time. The people were so kind!!! Would recommend that to people who can just appreciate the basic of life!
Response from Owner
Many thanks Susan. finally just found this message. I did so enjoy your family finally coming here after the flight muck ups last year. I hope you back safe and sound and had a good few months in the states. Warm regards Tracey at pahoia.co.nz

Basic beach stay accomodation in a great location. The communal kitchen/dining area was a highlight for us - amazing spot for a larger group to gather together with an ocean view. Great camping spot for bird lovers and early risers as there is a lot of bird activity at all times. Staff were helpful and friendly during our stay. Only sticking points were limited ablution facilities for the number of people staying onsite (although all were tidy) and resident dogs wandering at the site.
Response from Owner
Thanks for comments which will ensure I explain further re designated Duck Nest toilet next to the ablution block (Ablution block is for use by other campers as Motorhome folk are asked to use their own facilities) There is a cassette toilet within the Duck Nest (so two toilets for 6 people) I believe the problem was the staff you refer to are in fact wonderful volunteer's and I failed to explain to your extra family guests in tents their ablution block was situated behind the tents that also has a shower and compost toilet. I will make sure this is understood from now on (shower has wetback). I will amend websites to ensure that folk prior to booking are aware that this is an animal rescue site and guests and volunteers are always welcome along with their dogs. Pahoia Beach Stay is very low lying and at this stage All accommodation have ensuites ( so at this time there is 6 flushing toilets ) It is lovely to share the property that has been built by volunteers (and some paid Tradesmen) Thanks for the opportunity to explain. Regards Tracey Lankshear.
