Eileen Reid
Excellent value for money with a great location. Warm, tidy and well-equipped. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.
Our family stayed at Waikura Lodge over the New Year holiday period. It proved an excellent property for our needs. The kitchen is well equipped, and the dining table easily accommodated our group of six adults and four young children. The dishwasher was very handy for our large group. Our three families had a bedroom each and the beds where very clean and comfortable. The children enjoyed the bunk beds. The bathroom was well set up for groups, and the water pressure in the showers were exceptional. There was plenty of cleaning materials supplied. The parking areas provided plenty of space for our vehicles, and the shed was a secure lockup for our bikes and luggage top boxes. The large grassed backyard was very popular with the children, and the grounds are securely fenced making it a safe place for younger children. Waikura Lodge is very handy to the shops and food supplies in Ohakune and the bike and ski hire places are close by. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and are keen to revisit this home in the future.
Our group of 8 (four adults, four kids) stayed here for the weekend. This house was perfect for us, a large dining table that we could all sit at together, plenty of comfy seating in the lounge, two toilets and showers so no queues for the bathroom (the water pressure was amazing!) Even the bedding configuration was perfect. Just a stones throw from New World / takeaways / shops, with an impressive view of the mountain from the back yard. The fire heats up the house really well, and there’s even a dishwasher (fairly rare in batches). Had everything we needed, including a 4 slice toaster. Would definitely stay again.
