Lovely little cottage over 100 yrs old.. Very comfy and clean. Heat pump warmed the home up nicely.
We are a family of two adults and two teenagers who stayed one night at Waihi in Tui Cottage. It is a delight as is the owner, Mary. The house is easy to find and Mary was really great about keeping in touch before and after the stay and checking we had what we needed. Beautifully clean premises, spacious, comfortable and a good mix of modern and vintage to suit the age of the cottage. There are books available to read, TV to watch, sofas to blob on and a large section to run around in although we didn't stay outside very much as it was winter. The stained glass quarter lights are lovely. The cottage has a great layout and everything you would need in the kitchen. The beds are very comfortable. The only improvement I can suggest would be the addition of some localised heating installed in the bathroom although this wouldn't be required in warmer months. There is a great heat pump in the centre part of the cottage and we probably didn't have this on long enough to spread the warmth throughout the house on a winter's evening. I recommend it as the perfect spot to stay for a few days to really relax.
