I had the pleasure of renting this house for my in laws as we had our wedding there on the 12th of December 2020 the owners were absolutely lovely and easy to deal with and easy to contact with excellent communication 😀 this isn't a 5 star hotel as most people would expect but it is well worth the money with those beautiful views the house has character and was very tidy when we arrived Annette and Barrie I thank you again for letting us stay in your beautiful holiday home we hope it was nice and clean for the next people from the newly weds xxxooo

Poor communication, Unsanitary kitchen, dirty bathroom and toilet, UNPROFFESIONAL OWNERS. Rented out both units for a weekend stay, bug infested, dusty, cob web filled house. Fair enough Tinopai has bugs but the amount that was there was as if it was not cleaned out before our arrival. Owner admitted to cleaning THREE WEEKS PRIOR. Lack of communication between owners, have used every excuse on why they have not contacted me. Called cellphone number no answer, called business number and their son hung up on me. Should not be renting to others if you cant make the trip there to make sure its suitable for renters to stay in. Was offered part payment which still have not recived because they want to 'Check the units' before giving anything back even though they were left in better condition (Photo evidence) before we arrived. Also blammed me for not mentioning I had a child who is asthmatic, in her words 'You should of told me your child had asthma otherwise I would of told you its not suitable...' Proffesional business people should mention this in the first place. Highly recommend you DO NOT stay here. Horrible Experience for a first time at a holiday home.
Response from Owner
GUESTS NOT RECOMMENDED. – ZAVAIH HODGSON-VI AND FAMILY. THE MATTER IS IN THE HANDS OF POLICE. Baches vary in standard - listing photos depict general nature, age, and spatial qualities. They are typically not occupied full time. Local bachcare is not available. We have spent up to 25% of our time over 30 years as a labour of love providing accommodation facilities in an environment they complimented us on. Their criticism of cleanliness is very exaggerated. We believe guests came with an agenda that wanted a sanitized covid free accommodation, but they stuffed our letterbox with USED TISSUES- weird. My wife who did the reinstatement of the suites now has a very heavy headcold! There was no disclosure of an asthmatic baby. Prior experience had taught us parents of asthmatics can be obsessive. GUEST DAMAGE TO BLUE SUITE AND HARASSING NUMBER of phone calls etc and Duress. My wife was in severe shock after guests mother verbally abused and distressed her to the point of her near collapse, especially when she advised her of our travel to Tinopai to inspect the property as they had left it. We agreed after a preliminary inspection of the blue unit to pay a partial refund to get them off our back. At that stage I had not inspected blue or red suites and agreed on the basis we could counter claim. The double bed base was broken in 3 places, and on one side the lining torn. She said it was like that when they came. No way - Trampoline? Hole in toilet door, and breakage to door edge. I was shocked by the damage. The water heater was not switched off – THE RED SUITE was inspected by me after the blue. What a shock - it was trashed. Bedding thrown up on top bunks etc. No cleaning, flooded carpet at vanity, food left in fridge. KEY STOLEN! It required many hours reinstatement to leave it ready for next guests. They broke large glass turntable from microwave! Cans and bottles left in garden. Bags of rubbish left in 6 non complying bags – We had to resort it and repack into complying bags. Utensils, chattels, chairs and barbecue removed from one unit to the other. It appeared they left in a hurry and had planned to stay on.
