Rothesay is situated 11k from Duntroon (close to the Alps to Ocean Cycle Trail) and 40k from Oamaru. In fact Rothesay is 4k from the A2O trail at the Grants Rd entrance point, which is just past Anatini and Elephant Rocks. The beautiful Maraewhenua River is about 4k away, and so is the popular local swimming hole, at the Pump House. Fishermen also fish this river. The Aviemore and Benmore Lakes are about one hours drive up the beautiful Waitaki Valley, and the Waitaki River is accessible for keen fishermen at Duntroon. The Tokarahi Golf course is within 1.5k of our driveway.

The perfect place to relax, peaceful, warm and cozy. A lot of space and all set up with love to the details incl. a welcome cake and flowers in all the rooms. The kitchen is very well equipped, bedrooms spacious and comfy, a lovely garden to enjoy the sun and a great lounge with a fire place if it's not so nice outside. Plus BBQ and place for a bonfire, hot shower and bath, hens to feed for the kids and trees to climb, lots of space to run and play hide and seek.... the whole family loved it!!
Wonderful location, lots of things to do in the area. Very quiet and private. Jane is a very thoughtful host and puts a lot of effort into ensuring that people have a great stay. Everything you need is here. A lovely holiday house with its own charm, great to have the horses nearby and lots of space to wander around.
We had a wonderful time at Rothesay. I couldn't it recommend more. The farm house has everything you'll need and is just charming. We were very impressed with the home-made ginger slice and freshly cut roses scenting the rooms on arrival. The surroundings are so picturesque and the grazing horses out front are friendly too. Jane and Barry are wonderful hosts who are happy to help with any query you might have, but to simply leave you to it otherwise. This place is amazing.
