To be honest I would have given it 3.5 stars if I would have been able to. The house is spacious and has 4 bedrooms with the upper ones having one double and a few bunks or singles. One of the upper bedrooms hosts the header tank behind a door and it gets quite noisy when water is used at night. The upper level has a bathroom as well as the lower one which is a nice addition if you are a night time toilet user.... The lower bedrooms have doubles and singles beds. It is a very spacious house with two bathrooms and perfect for large groups in the terms of beds. The beds all have blankets and pillows. You need to bring your own sheets and pillow cases. There is a barn that can hold bikes or a boat or a car. The house itself sits within the bush which gives it a cosy feel at first but unfortunately it has very little natural light getting into the house and that makes it a tat damp. We also found some lights not working inside due to burst bulbs. That did not help to overcome the first impression that the house appeared to be a bit unloved. We do understand that the owners don't live here but found the house just a bit sad. It certainly has a batch feel to it. This goes coherent with a wee lack in cleanliness i.e. tacky cups, plates, not properly vacuumed etc. Saying that, the house is actually very well equipped with everything one could wish for like electric frying pans and plenty of pots, pans and other utensils. Unfortunately we could not find any instructions or other informations for the house or the area around it. There is a huge dining table but only 6 very uncomfortable chairs. Two sofas and a single seater are provided for the lounge. You will find an old fashioned Tv and a DVD player but I guess that is not what you are here for :-) and I wont take that into my review. On our arrival there was dry firewood provided at the front of the house which was lovely as it was a damp and coolish day. But no paper or kindling and worse, no matches or lighter. We were glad that one in our party had matches on board and that we carried a newspaper around. Maybe it was the time of the year that did not make our experience a fantastic one. It certainly is in a great location if you are into water sports and spend most of the time out of the house as it is very close to the lake. In our case, where we just wanted to be inside as it was quite wet and we were tired from our ride, it was a bit uncosy and the house felt more like a hut than a holiday home. But after all, we were glad that we had a dry warm place to stay for only one night after a long day of biking, so thank you for letting us stay!
