About this Holiday House

Delana House guest villa is located one hour south of Nadi on the magnificent coral coast, 10 kms from the colourful market town of Sigatoka. It is central to great diving, snorkelling and surfing and the many resorts along the coast, as well as three golf courses and white sandy beaches within a few minutes. Delana House is fully self contained with two large en-suite bedrooms and a separate well equipped kitchen/living room which has two single beds - total occupancy is 6 people. There are multiple decks and verandas with quality outdoor furniture for dining, lounging and relaxing, all set in tropical gardens around the swimming pool. The elevation of Delana gives magnificent views of the sea and reef and the 'Fiji sunsets' are as stunning as promotional pictures you will see. The villa and whole property is very secure with a live-in Fijian caretaking couple residing on the property - the villa is fully serviced daily except Sunday. Delana is SAFE and children friendly for little ones - they have their own very large covered veranda's as their "playroom", fenced and gated from the pool.....they love it! FIVE NIGHT MINIMUM STAY. VIEW GUEST COMMENTS FROM 2008 to 2014 BELOW: Selena & Joe Hunt 30/10/14 Beautiful Delana: Hi Liz, The family has finally come down from the HIGH of our trip to Fiji. I just wanted to quickly write to you to say how amazing and how prepared you have Delana House. Delana exceeded all our expectations in terms of the location, adequate facilities available, the pool , the stunning amazing view and everything else that is at the house. Nimi and Josie are beautiful people and made our stay awesomely comfortable and lovely. You definitely picked the best couple. Our friends and family were in awe of the house when they came over for a visit and could not stop talking about the house and the view. Thank-you for all the assistance before our arrival and we did not have any hiccups at all during our stay. We cannot wait for our next trip to Fiji.....we know where we will be staying! Rachael Martin on 29/08/2013 Thanks very much for our stay at Delana House. We had a wonderful time and just loved Josie and Nimi We have been raving about our experience since we got home – which may backfire next time we go to book! Florence and Grace had a ball too. Jon Heidi Kyah Shae Amika on 27/08/13 We simply loved our stay at Delana House. From the moment we arrived our family felt welcomed, safe and relaxed. We initially stayed here because we could not get accommodation at resorts to suit. We are so glad we couldn’t. We loved having our own pool and being away from the crowds. Nimi and Josie are the best and made our stay very special. We were also lucky to have spent time with Sam and Liz and got fantastic advice on where to eat, buy presents, food and what to see. The house is so comfortable and well maintained, its cleaned daily, washing done and the views are amazing. Its also easy to get around when you head out and about and just say Delana House and every taxi driver will get you home. Thanks again we really hope to return one day. The Lesslie's on 29/06/13 Wow what a holiday! A great home with outstanding views. We loved being able to have our own pool. Close to some great eats and overall just a cool location. Josie and Nemi are amazing and it actually felt we were leaving behing a bit of home when we departed back to our home. I highly recommend Delana House…great for little one’s too! Margaret Price on 12/06/13 Delana House was wonderfully relaxing and exactly what we needed – to get away from our hectic lives! No small talk with other guests and complete solitude. Highly recommend Delana House. Pita Birch on 25/10/12 What a perfect place to stay. Found Delana on Holiday homes and suited our time frame. We are a family with 3 kids and were not at all keen on a “resort holiday”. This was perfect. Beautiful surroundings and a view to die for. The beach was a lovely stroll down the hill and best of all we could enjoy the surroundings in peace. Nimi and Josie are fantastic and a real asset to the house – warm and inviting and made our stay so hospitable. The kava ceremony was a highlight Nimi. I would recommend having a hire car and exploring the surroundings. An occasional day trip and a short trips to the resorts for food and drink are pleasant, but mostly we just loved being around Delana house. Would love to come back. Pedro on 02/09/12 Before travelling to Fiji my wife and I had little idea of where to go for our holiday but had been given a recommendation to rent a house on the Coral Coast. We were very fortunate to stumble across on the web a vacant time at Delana hse. It had everything we were wanting with its magnificent sea views, good accommodation and excellent management. My wife and I would highly recommend Delana Hse if you were considering to rent a villa on the Coral Coast. valeria volpini on 23/07/12 we had a wonderful stay at Delana House. The house has everything you need, the pool is great, Sam and Liz are fantastic hosts who organized for us everything we needed, and our kids still talk every day of the fun they had there with Josie and Nimi, the lovely caretakers of the property. Location is also great and the view of the sea is to die for. We willl definitely be back! Warren and Lisa on 06/07/12 Delana House proved to be the perfect holiday destination for our family of 6. All our numerous enquiries throughout the period before our arrival were promptly addressed and any concerns put to rest. Once we arrived we were warmly welcomed to paradise by the friendly and helpful staff and shown to our more than comfortable, fully equipped quarters. The kids loved the pool and the breath taking location and all the other little special touches that Delana House offers. We loved the unobtrusive way the staff went about their business helping to make our stay their unequivocalably the best family holiday we have ever had. Thankyou Liz,Sam and staff for providing such a high quality, ideally located and wonderfully presented destination. 10/10 Michelle Bell on 20/04/12 A beautiful place to holiday, the pool was awesome with an amazing view of the sea. Josie & Nimi were wonderful and took care of our every need. We especially enjoyed the cultural experience they gave us ie the kava ceremony, coconut tree climbing and the farewell song. They & Delana will always have a special place in our hearts. Stokes Family on 24/03/12 I have to say this was the most wonderful experience we could have wished for. Nimi and Josie were absolutely fabulous – what service we got! We left with very heavy hearts and quite a few tears! Despite the weather (it never affected us), Fiji did itself proud. Thank-you so very much for the opportunity to rent your lovely Delana House Mweisi Carra on 03/01/12 Wow! What an awesome place for a holiday! This was definitely the perfect place for us to stay. Myself, husband and 3 children (13yrs, 2yrs and 9 months old) along with our friends (another couple) stayed at Delana House over Christmas in 2011. The caretaker couple, Nimi and Josie were amazing. They really made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Our children adored them and our 2 year old has asked for Nimi several times since we returned home (he was Nimi’s shadow for the duration of our stay). For Christmas day, Nimi and Josie allowed us to help them in cooking a lovo for Christmas lunch. This was very much a group effort where we all had jobs including the children. This was a great experience for us all and one of the highlights of our holiday. The house is located at the top of a very steep driveway (great exercise walking to the top) which gives stunning views of the ocean. It’s within walking distance (as long as the driveway isn’t an issue for you) of the Outrigger Resort which has several restaurants and bars, shops and an atm. There are also other options for dining out within walking distance, otherwise you can order in from ‘Shanas’ and have your meals delivered to the house. Prior to our holiday, any questions I had regarding our stay were answered by Liz, the owner either by email or on the phone. We can wholeheartedly recommend Delana House to anyone looking for a great holiday. Mweisi and Troy Carra TASH AND RUSS on 12/10/11 BULA-My husband and I stayed at Delana house last year.Sorry about my late update! We had a gorgeous time :-). The weather was perfect and we had the best 2 people taking care of us. Liz the owner was great to talk to as well. The kava ceremony was cool and so was the singing. Nothing was a problem.Very relaxing with lovely pool and excellent sea views. You can cook yourself or there is the outrigger down the road and a few other restarants down by the beach. Singatoka is about 15-20mins drive. You can get everything at good prices. Veges and fruit are really cheap at the outside markets. You might want to take in your bags a few things like vegemite and the likes as those sorts of things tend to be abit pricie! If you are a wine drinker I suggest you bring as much as you are aloud through customs. Very expensive! Russ and I have been to Fiji every year for the last 5 years so hence we know our way around the main Island as well as quite afew resorts including the Yasawas and Mamanucas. I will hopefully get some photos up of our stay in the next few days. O for Orsume!!!! Michelle Sinn on 11/08/11 Absolutely wonderful staying at Delana, the views, location and everything about Delana was just superb.. We cannot say enough good things about Josie and Nimmie who looked after us. Thank you also to Kone Sam and Liz. We look forward to returning to Delana again in the future Aaron Pickering on 24/05/2011 Our stay at Delana House was everything we hoped it would be. The pool, the warmth, the views, and the great hospitaility and service offered by the team at Delana. We have no hesitation in recommending an extended stay here. For an extended family of 6 inclduing a 2yr old the facilities where perfect. We hope to be back. Pickering family NZ Angela McKeefry on 11/01/11 Thanks, what a great holiday and awesome place. the house lived up to expectations and the experience was fantastic. Pita and Vina were awesome and so friendly. The kids loved the pool and the view is wow. The snorkling off the beach was no where near as good as on the outer islands, but it was still better than we had expected and our 7yr old LOVED it, saw heaps. Thought Le Cafe was a great place to eat, along with Bedara. Went for a day trip to Natadola beach, which is one of the best beaches I have been to (once we located it down an old beaten track). Highly recommend. Femke van den Berg on 11/01/11 Delana house was the perfect place to spend a holiday with our one year old son. Pita and Vina were absolutely wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. Everything was set up for the little one, even the ride on toys were availkable. It was so lovely to stay in a house with a small baby instead of a resort. The house is set up to be very child friendly with lots of decks to explore (and gates to close them!) so we all felt we had room to move instead of being locked away in a small hotel room. The house is easy walking distance to the beach and to the nearby resort and other restaurants. Town is only a short taxi drive away, so easy to stock up on your groceries. I celebrated my birthday at Delana House and it was a birthday to remember with lots of TLC from the carers on my special day. If you want to experience Fiji in a very different way I can definitely recommend Delana House, your holiday will be very very special. Craig on 02/01/11 From the moment we arrived at Delana House, we were treated as family by Pita and Vina, and that’s the way it stayed for the next 11 days. They made us feel so welcome, and that nothing was too much trouble. From taking us to the markets (and explaining the wonderful array of goods for sale) to cooking a traditional feast, Pita and Vina were the difference between ‘experiencing’ Fiji and merely ‘visiting’ it. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of the house, and lived in the pool during the warm summer days. After spending a short time at one of the nearby busy (and noisy) resorts, we were glad to escape back to Delana. We found the location perfect – we had a car, and found more than enough distractions within easy drive. In fact, we ran out of days to see it all. It’s about half way from Pacific Harbour and Denarau/Nadi – with all the island daytrips those places offer. We found the driving easy, and the roads quiet. The house was quite comfortable, and even though there was no airconditioning, it was pleasant with almost constant seabreezes to cool us. It was a lovely alternative to a resort for our family of 6 – and I’d thoroughly recommend it if you’re not the resort-type, and enjoy self-catering. Louise Zacest on 11/10/10 We had a wonderful and relaxing 8 day stay at Delana House with our two daughters. It’s even more beautiful than in the photos and many an hour was spent look out across the reef! The girls spent most of their time, predictably, in the pool. The guest villa has lovely spacious rooms and bathrooms and is very clean. As keen cooks, we enjoyed our shopping expeditions to the markets in Sigatoka and the well equipped kitchen. We have been to Fiji about 7 or 8 times but this is the first time we have rented a house. Thank you Liz for making your Fiji home available to us and providing excellent information which made holiday planning easy. Thanks also to Pita and Vina for their help and the good conversations. Pauline on 21/08/10 Great location, short drive to town and a few mins walking distance to the nearby resort. We had such a relaxing stay, enjoyed the pool and magnificent views. Thank you very much for the lovely dinner you prepared for us. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the best places to go. Delana house is highly recommended. We hope to be back again soon! karin stoever on 13/08/10 A wonderful third stay at Delana ! I cannot add to the forementioned allocates, Delana House is just perfect, in every way ! Yes, it can get hot in Fiji during Jan, Feb and March, but Delana’s magnificient location, high above the sea, assures constant sea breezes…. the covered decks give you lots of shade. making it about 15F to 20F degrees cooler than town….the evenings were mellow and the nights cool enough for good sleeping…, no reason not to go in the “Off Season”...for wonderful dinners, walk down to BEDARRA, superb food, light, beautiful presentation, excellent service and reasonable fare (about $fj27.00 for the most expensive dinner ) If you enjoy Fish and Chips….this is the place ! It is not on the Dinner menu but, when asked, were pleased to serve it (about $fj14.00 and really good !) Ask for Saki to be your waiter….for an EXTRAORDINARY night, call Marie at BEACH COCOMO Resort….it has to be the most unique restaurant in the Pacific ! Marie will need at least 24 hr notice…she will cook ,and serve, a romantic Dinner for two or cater a fun night for up to 12 guests. Her specialty is Korean but she is also an expert chef for Fijian cuisine….and, although never tried, might even do a good Indian brew….you decide. The husband/wife team are amazing, the Dining room is a sand-floored Bure….special, very special !!!! Bring your own drinks. About getting to town: walk down to the Outrigger’s BACK entrance and you will see roaming vans, which will transport you to town for $fj1. You can also take the van for the return trip. I always took a taxi back to Delana, shopping bags full with fruits and vegetable, so treat yourself to the $fj 6 or 7 return trip, as the walk up to Delana needs you to be in good shape. Stop at the Korotoga shop for eggs, Tuesday and Thursday, that’s when they are fresh off the farm. For an expert massage, body scrub, or both ! call Titi, she works for a prestigious spa and will happily come up to Delana when her schedule allows. ENJOY your stay at DELANA HOUSE. Karin Stoever, Westport, Ct. USA Pauline Mountford on 24/06/10 What an amazing experience our family had, staying at Delana House. Wonderful welcome, help and support from Matai and Aseri, especially when our 13 month old grandson was quite sick. We couldn’t have wanted for anything more and the location was well situated for our sightseeing trips to Suva, Denarau, Lautoka, etc. Liz and Sam are amazing hosts and we thank them for sharing their fabulous home with us. Pauline and Peter Mountford, Christchurch, New Zealand Debra Robinson on 09/04/10 If you would like to experience Fiji without being trapped in a tourist bubble at one of those large resorts stay at Delana House. It had been a long time since I had holidayed in Fiji and was reluctant to do so because of my experiences of too many tourists, bad food and the feeling I was not getting value for money. Then I was recommended by a friend to stay at Delana House. My main requirement was being able to get out and see some of the real Fiji: Be able to shop for food at the local markets – Singatoka is a short taxi ride. Have a choice of different restaurants close by and have the ability to cook for myself. Also I really wanted to be able to, walk and explore with freedom, to find good beaches, swimming and snorkelling places. Delana House was all this and more, Liz and Sam are delightful hosts, the villa is wonderfully presented and you feel quite spoilt with Matai and Aseri looking after you. One of my favourite times was in the evening, having a refreshing swim in the pool then sitting on the varandah looking at the magnificent view of the bay with cool drink. Thank you so much Liz & Sam, looking forward to seeing you again soon. Debra Robinson Pauline Davey on 01/04/10 How lovely it was to arrive at Delana house after a very long and delayed trip owing to to the forcast of Hurricane Tomas. I loved the peace and quiet. There is a small welcome ceremony presented by the wonderful staff Matai and Aseri. The rooms were generous and very comfortable. There was everything I needed to make myself at home. The view from Delana House is spectacular, and it is only a short walk down the hill to a great little snorkling spot. There are plenty of little restaurants and intimate bars to enjoy within walking distance. It is only a 5-6 kilometer trip to the local township of Sigatoka where you can stock up on local produce so you can create a lovely meal and enjoy it on your own deck enjoying the nightime sunset. Rooms were kept immacculate and washing done everyday. I must admit I felt a little lazy, but hey, I was on holiday!! If you are looking for a quality villa stay that is peaceful and out of the ‘large impersonal noisy expensive resort experience’ Delana house is perfect. I especially loved the Kava ceremony the night before I left, and was very emotional when once again Matai and Aseri got out the guitar and sang the Delana House goodbye ‘ceremony’ as I was getting into the Taxi to head back to Nadi Airport. Thanks Liz and Sam at Delana House – Hope to see you again soon. Richard Sykes on 12/01/10 Firstly we would like to thank you and your suppport staff for a truly wonderful holiday, so much so that we have been telling everybody about your place and everyone seems interested in staying at Delana. Lepani and Rachael gave us a fantastic welcome and stay and I must say the gardens and pool were outstanding. Rachael did an amazing job cleaning the house, and Kone was charming and so helpful. Since I have been back I have really missed Delana and the Fijian people so much, but we will be back sometime soon I hope. Thanks again R Sykes – Sydney Deborah & Gavin Thomas on 05/01/10 We stayed 2.5 months at Delana with our 21 month old toddler and this is the nicest self catering place we’ve stayed at in our 20 years of travel. It’s just like being in a resort but with your own privacy. Stunning views, gorgeous salt water pool, lovely accommodation with all the mod cons, serviced daily and even your washing gets done for you…what more could you ask for?? It’s only 10 mins car ride to Sigatoka (closest main town which has local markets and pretty much all you need) and the Outrigger resort is practically next door if you want to enjoy resort life…we loved having cocktails there while watching the torch lighting ceremony. Kone, Rachel and Lepani are there to help you with anything you need and are just wonderful. If you are really lucky you’ll get to meet Sam and Liz (the owners) and they are the most fabulous hosts you’ll ever meet and their decades of being in the travel industry really shines through, as they’ve thought of everything to make your stay truly special. We were so sad to leave Delana, as it’s been a dream break. We hope to be back soon. What a gem!! Thank you for our memorable stay. Karin Stoever on 09/11/08 NIRVANA…..I stayed at Delana last year and decided to treat myself to a month of R and R this October…..Every day exceeded my expectation, Rachel and Lepani were wonderful and are the essence of Fijian Hospitality. I am hoping to return for my annual Holiday next October.Vinaka Vaka Levu…. Karin Stoever. Westport, Ct. USA Nga on 13/10/08 Delana is a peaceful and quiet haven. The place was clean, inviting and beautifully kept. Loved the huge verandah with the BBQ area facing the sea views. The caretakers (Lepani and Rachael) were lovely, unintrusive and very kind. We both loved the fact that we did not have to do the washing and the special little touches around the rooms – bowls of fragapani, soft cotton towels, coconut soaps. We love the set up and have no qualms recommending Delana to our families and friends. kenny and Fliss on 19/09/08 What a wonderful place to stay. Lepani (the caretaker) and his family – Rachel and Lilly made us feel so welcome. Fantastic views and great having a pool all to yourself!. We can’t wait to go back!

Dear Sam and Liz, The accommodations at Delana house were in a word: wonderful! My wife and I had a great time sitting on the deck to cook and hang out, but we also spent a lot of time under the bure reading our books and talking. The pool turned out to be an excellent temperature regulator as we were always quite hot in Fiji- I really enjoyed the salt water. The rooms were clean, and having the laundry service was a real bonus as we went through clothes very quickly. I will say that above all else, the best entity at the Delana house was Nimi and Josey. Those two were so accommodating, friendly, and were great resources for the surrounding area, not to mention Fijian culture, both contemporary and past. Anyway, we would of course recommend the space to our friends and family. Thanks, Win Lewis
I hesitate to write this review because we feel we have our piece of paradise at Delana House and we really don't want to share with others. We have stayed here for two years from January-April or May and are planning to return this year in December. It is not the most desirable time to be there but we love it. The accommodations are 5 star, Josie and Nimi are wonderful caretakers and we now consider them friends, as we do Sam and Liz, the owners. The bus stop is nearby and it is a short walk to snorkeling at the beach. Life slows down and is so peaceful here. We cook our meals on the deck and enjoy the lovely pool. The trip to Sigatoka on the bus is short and convenient. We go often to shop for fresh produce and fish at the open air market and pick up a few extras at the supermarket. I can't say enough about this location and highly recommend you come for a stay. You won't be sorry.

Hi Liz, I hadn't had a chance to email you to tell you the fantastic time everybody had at Delana House at Christmas. You really do have a great spot there overlooking the sea, everything was provided, and Nimi and Josie were such friendly and easy going caretakers. The house was great, comfortable and we really made use of the cooking facilities, especially the BBQ which I think we used nearly every day. Mum and Dad really LOVED the place, it was nice to see them relaxing after a long and stressful year! My brother and I made the most of the good weather, surfing and diving, as well as some local rugby down on the beach! Thanks again for catering for all our needs, and hopefully we come and stay again soon! Vinaka. Tim.
