About this Holiday House

This cosy, open plan cottage is especially suited for fishermen or people who love the quiet rural surroundings. Is great for bird-watchers and other nature lovers. It is central to the famous La Fontaine Stream, renowned for challenging brown trout fly fishing. Several other spring creeks are close by with some Lake fishing available too. A variety of bush walks near-by with the beach further afield but worth a visit. Very close to where Australian flyer Guy Menzies landed on the first solo flight of the Tasman, between Australia and New Zealand. The cottage is stream-side (Purcell Stream) and is mostly fenced, it is important that parents supervise their children at all times. On quiet rural road however care should still be taken. 360 degree views of native bush and farmland, scenic, peaceful, relaxing. we hope over time to restore the garden that used to be here however the grounds are tidy. children should be supervised - you may smoke outside the cottage but out of consideration for others please do not smoke inside. Wifi is now installed

A perfect place to stay for the serious flyfisher. Hosts Mary and Lindsay Molloy made us welcome and gave access to the LaFontaine for some memorable fishing. Cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped.
