About this Holiday House

Plum Tree Cottage is a sunny 2 bedroom house which sleeps 5 and has a separate lounge, kitchen and dining room. Note: Our lovely holiday home will be coming up for sale early 2022, which is why bookings are blocked out from mid March. It is set in a large well fenced section surrounded by birds and orchard trees in the quaint village of Hampden, which is alongside the Moeraki Boulders beach. Guests are expected to take their own bed linen/sleeping bags, towels and food and to leave the crib clean and tidy for the next occupants thanks, this helps to keep the nightly charge down. There is a heat pump and north facing deck with outdoor furniture to sit and relax in the sun. While here, feel free to help yourself to plums, apples, pears, blackcurrants, gooseberries and walnuts from the orchard when in season. House trained-well mannered dogs are permitted. Plum Tree Cottage is situated on a quiet side street, 600 metres from the beautiful beach where you can swim, see the local Hectors dolphins or walk to the Moeraki boulders and Moeraki fishing village, tides permitting. Hampden has some delicious eating options 3 minutes walk around the corner. A world renowned fish and chip shop, a cafe, a Tavern and a great 4 Square which is famous for serving up giant icecreams and their in-house bakery. A 10 minute drive takes you to the Moeraki boat ramp, tavern and the famous Fleurs seafood restaurant at Moeraki village. Penguins and seals can be easily viewed from the lighthouse and there are plenty of fishing charters to choose from. Oamaru is 20 minutes away where you can view the steampunk creations and Victorian precinct and see the locals in period costume or ride a penny farthing. Don’t miss Riverstone restaurant, park, castle and craft shops which is another 15 minutes north of Oamaru. Please note that we would prefer guests to make Online Bookings with the Book feature, as opposed to submitting enquiries, as you may experience delays in replies from us, thank you for understanding.

Loved everything about Plum Tree Cottage. The care taken to keep it original gave me wonderful memories of my Grandparents house. The huge outside area was beautiful. A true kiwi crib. On steroids. Couldn't fault anything. Hope to go back again . Thank YOU for letting us share your little piece of paradise.

Comfortable home and well equiped. Great for a quiet getaway
Highly recommend this home for a relaxing holiday. Our jack russell thinks it's the mostest. The queen bed is the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Some cold nights in April. but the heat pump kept us warm.
