About this Holiday House

A lovely three bedroom cottage nestled at the edge of the magnificent Mangawhai harbour on a private 1/2 acre section with water views up the estuary. North facing it catches all day sun on a spacious home(140sqm)and expansive (50sqm) deck. Swim or launch small craft from front garden. There is a large second lounge/rumpus which makes an excellent children's playroom or tv room. The house has: a bathroom with hand basin and bath, a laundry with a shower and tub, 2 separate toilets. Easy stroll to shops and cafes and interesting markets on Saturday morning. Estuary walks or nearby beach/clifftop walkway. Short drive to surf beach, sand dunes, tennis club, golf club. A really great place to stay in Mangawhai, the mangroves and estuary off the backyard are awesome and there is heaps of space for kids to run around. The lounge area is a bit dark and not the best for socializing. It is very spacious and great for big groups. Note that unlike lots of baches, there are no condiments or anything so take your herbs, salt and pepper! Also, the shower was very weak and temperamental so it was a little hard to get our little boy clean. Otherwise, it is a great place to stay and we would recommend it! Basic but great for what you pay.

The price is so good for what we got!! A perfect place to get away for some quiet time. The place is very spacious and would fit an army!!!! It is a simple place BUT very effective, and has all that you need. A home away from home, peaceful and very private. Bruce is a very lovely host and quick to respond. Is very helpful :) The fireplace is perfect and heats up the whole house. So though the weather was not so great, we made the most of our time there. A short drive to the dunes, and our favourite the chocolate factory just around the corner :) Would absolutely recommend a stay here.

What a perfect place to stay. Right on the water and we took a small dinghy so had lots of fun in the estuary. It's lovely and quiet, the views are brilliant out over the water and it's an easy walk to shops and a good swimming spot. The house is spacious and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
