About this Holiday House
The Kereru Sleep Out is a warm 2 bedroom self contained sleep-out, situated on a working sheep and beef station. The unit boasts great farm and native bush views.
The pool is only available during December- January and is well fenced.
THE TIMBER TRAIL CYCLE WAY: 20 min drive away and located in Pureora Forest Park. Shuttles can be arranged to pick up from the Kereru Quarters.
CENTER OF THE NORTH ISLAND: 20 min drive, located in Pureora.
BUSH WALKS: There are more than 15 DoC managed walking tracks ranging from 15 mins to 3 days in the Pureora Forest Park. A highlight is climbing Mt Pureora. (1165 meters) See DoC Website for more tramping information.
MAPARA RESERVE: A DoC reserve where the native endangered NZ Kokako bird can be found along with a number of other native New Zealand birds such as the KERERU and the Tui. A DoC brochure is available on their website, which includes walking trails.
WAITOMO CAVES:The Sleepout is located 40 minutes from the world famous Waitomo Caves and is on the main road from Waitomo to Rotorua.
ROTORUA: Is a further 1 hour and 20 min drive.
TAUPO: Is but an hour and 15 min drive.
NZ SHEARING CHAMPIONSHIPS: Te Kuiti is the Shearing Capital of the World and is known for its Annual show and Running of the Sheep Muster. This is always held the weekend after Easter.
