About this Holiday House

Looking for peace in paradise? A romantic getaway? The Pavilion is a very special retreat designed by acclaimed architect Pete Bossley. An extraordinary one bedroom sanctuary to complement our other holiday home offering - John's House. Pete has managed to create a small house with a huge heart with lashings of flair. The Pavilion's massive glass windows and doors look out over manicured lawns to gardens and trees creating an expansive feel. The super king bed is large and comfortable and the big window seat is a prime spot for chilling out (or putting little people to bed on). Linen sheets are of the finest quality. The bathroom is huge and open plan (and fully disabled compliant). The kitchen unit with fridge, dishwasher, two gas rings, toaster and convection microwave means you can eat in. But most of our guests are eager to take advantage of proximity to the many restaurants, cafes and bars so close to hand in The Village aka Havelock North. Havelock North - The Village - is a ten minute stroll/3 minute bike ride along the Karamu Stream path bounding our property. Alternatively less than 3 kms by car. Here you can enjoy boutique shopping, great coffee, a fantastic choice of food and beverage options, a very good supermarket and outstanding cinema. Further afield, but no more than 20 minutes drive, are 30+ wineries and restaurants, fishing rivers, several golf courses, superb beaches, ,Te Mata Peak and Park, Cape Kidnappers, Napier City (Art Deco), Farmers Markets and the wonderful 00kms+ cycle trails. In addition to our own home (with pool that guests are most welcome to enjoy) of over 25 years we have John's House (see sep listing) and the property offers over two hectares of lawns and gardens. The two houses together are a great dynamic for extended family gatherings and group events, garden weddings etc. As hosts we respect the privacy of guests at all times. Just a few minutes walk/bike along the Karamu Stream to Havelock North. 3 minutes drive to the Village and Hastings. Essentialy central - 20 minutes drive max to all The Best Of Hawke's Bay! Totally private and tranquil property - 8 hectares (20 acres) pastoral peace including over 1 hectare (2 and a half acres) of lawns & gardens. Certified disabled access. Double glazed and insulated to the max this stunning little Pete Bossley creation an amazing and endearing escape.

The location was central to the Hawkes Bay area and the Pavilion was lovely. The only negative was the BBQ which we didn't use as it looked like it had never been cleaned! The homemade bread from our host was a nice treat. Nick informed us of all the nearby sites to visit and recommended some nice local restaurants We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Sorry about the BBQ! We actually ask guests to clean it after use (which seems logical) and would certainly have cleaned it had this been bought to our attention at the time.

Delightful property in simply stunning location, perfect for exploring all Hawkes Bay has to offer. Leisurely stroll along the river bank to Havelock village. If your requirements include quality accommodation in restful surroundings then this is the place. Thankyou Nick and Pluto.
