Grandads Cottage has panoramic views and a mostly private beach. A prime elevated, sheltered site you overlook farmland and the Pacific Ocean only 800 meters away. Beach access is available through private land, where you can fish, swim, dive or just relax and have the place to yourself. The freshwater estuary has an abundance of wildlife and is ideal safe swimming for the younger ones. The cottage is warm and safe with plenty of room outside for the children to kick a ball, play cricket or pitch a tent. On a cloudless night the stars are amazing, and you can see the satellites as they pass above. Riversdale Beach Resort is only 10-12 minutes' drive away with golf course, surf club and general store. The store has an off-license takeaways and coffee but please note no petrol. A new cafe has opened a few km's down the road called Homewood Storeroom, it has a variety of excellent food and beverages with a variety of local crafts including award winning chocolate. The golf club has a challenging 9 hole course. Booking tee times on line is required, with Friday night meals and a well stocked bar, its all you need to complete your stay.
