About this Holiday House
A blissfully quiet and private, newly furnished holiday home, situated above the historic Whangaroa harbour, surrounded by acres of magnificent native forest, part of the Mangonui Forest reserve.
Our large kauri panelled open plan living room has great indoor/ outdoor flow, through folding doors onto the sheltered sunny north facing deck with views over tree ferns to stands of mature kauri.
Secluded but not isolated, The Cedar house is just minutes away from the local village pub, the boat ramp and wharf. Halfway between Kerikeri (Bay of Islands) and Kaitaia (Cape Reinga). The Cedar house is the perfect base for exploring Northland's wonderful east and west coast beaches and subtropical forests.
The sheltered waters of Whangaroa harbour are ideal for fishing, scalloping, sailing, windsurfing and kayaking.
The scenic Department of Conservation walk to Lane Cove passes our gate, with the opportunity of a fresh water swim on the way and a scramble to the top of "The Duke's Nose" that gives a unique panoramic view.
A beautiful house in an unique setting , a truly magical place to come home to.
