An idyllic place to escape for a restful break away from city life, and busy beaches. Accommodation as advertised, clean, comfortable and well supplied. Short trip by car to popular beaches, coastal and bush walks, cycle-ways, historical and cultural activities. Was fantastic to come back after a days exploring to enjoy wine and kai on the deck with only the noise from the array of bird life frequenting the ponds. We enjoyed kayaking on the harbour, swimming at Ōhope and Ōhiwa beaches; hired bikes in Ōpōtiki and rode the Dune Trail; Whakatāne offers historical and cultural walks and activities - Mataatua Whare is well worth a guided visit. Awakeri rail trail, Tarawera falls walk with a soak at the Kawerau hot pools (free, well presented community pool). Dianne and Bob welcoming and helpful. We would stay again.

Sit back, relax, and soak up the beautiful surroundings filled with bird song. And ... try the kayaks!
We arrived in darkness ( fire and lights on ) so our first impressions had to wait until the morning, wow what a view from the deck, the bach has everything you will need and more. Dianne was a very friendly hostess and keeps a tidy ship. The cleanest bach we have visited in a while with super clean linen. Bird life is amazing and a great place to just lax out over the week-end. Lloyd & Ngaire.
