Seva Cottage is in perfect setting and location for couples and families in Bishopdale, Christchurch. Relax in the peaceful environs adjacent to the Self Realization Meditation Healing Centre. Seva Cottage is centrally located, 7 minutes to the airport.
Check-in is anytime after 2pm. Check-out is anytime before 10 am.

Seva Cottage is 10 minutes to the city centre, 1 minute to a supermarket and a large variety of shops at the Bishopdale Mall. Also at the Bishopdale Mall is a library with free WIFI.
Less than a minute's walk from Seva Cottage is the lovely Reality Bites cafe, offering a nice environment to enjoy a coffee or meal and free WIFI.

Seva Cottage is completed self-contained on its own property and is fully fenced. There is ample off-street parking down a gated private drive.
Important Note: The driveway and gate are narrow and the driveway is long, as Seva Cottage is on a back section. We have had many large work vehicles down the driveway, however, if you are not used maneuvering your vehicle in narrow spaces, or are driving a large travel vehicle, you may not be comfortable parking down the drive. We have recently doubled the size of the area for turning, however some may still find it a tight turn, especially if your vehicle is large. There is parking on the road if you do not feel to park in the driveway. You will want to consider whether you are happy with all of this before you request a booking.
The cottage is equipped with an electric oven and stove top, microwave, fridge/freezer, a library and games collection, CD player/DVD and TV (for playing DVDs only), and a washing machine.
Seva Cottage is a comfortable, warm, sunny and homey place to stay, perfect for couples and families. The comments we most often hear from people are:

There are three double bedrooms (a super king bed in master bedroom), and two singles in each of the other two bedrooms, as well as in the large sitting room.
The rate includes electricity, and there are several heaters throughout the house (at least seven in total). It is important to us that you are comfortable during your stay, so please do let us know if there is anything you need.
The home has a live phone connection, meaning that you may be able to transfer your phone services (and phone number) to the property for the duration of your stay. This would give you access to broadband if that is a service that you currently have. All the families that have stayed for their earthquake repairs have done this and found it very simple. Telecom is still doing the transfer for free to our knowledge.
Within a couple minutes' drive you will be at the beautiful Styx Mill Reserve, which also links on to the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, a very popular destination for adults and children alike and with a nice restaurant to boot. In a few more minutes you will be at the Groynes, an expansive multi-purpose reserve with ponds, a river, and abundant wildlife.
Just 7 minutes down the road is the Antarctic Centre and another five minutes past there and you can visit Orana Park Wildlife Park as well as Arion Farm Education Park. These again are excellent options for parents and children. There are many delights to behold if you can get to Arion park in the spring. Look out for the gorgeous piglets!
You have several options of beaches within easy reach of Seva Cottage in Bishopdale. Enjoy the fresh sea air at New Brighton, South Brighton, and Sumner.
The picturesque towns of Akaroa, a beautiful bay community, and Hanmer, a stunning thermal reserve, are easy day trips away. If you're planning a winter visit, ski fields are within an easy 90 minutes drive.
